I think we are doing little sappling trees in burlap bags with maybe a short message on it.  We aren’t going to get one for every person…maybe one per family.

We are doing mini-jar candles with a note attached explaining how the jars can be re-used when the candle is used up. 🙂  We are buying them in our wedding colors and will be decorating with ribbon.

We’re doing heart shaped shortbread cookies from a local bakery.  Four in a tulip shaped cupcake liner inside a square acrylic box with an ivory ribbon and a favor tag.  The tag reads “sweets to end the sweetest day”.

I am DIY messages in the bottle using wine bottles, sand, seashells and personal thank you as the message. DIY personal bottle labels. Our second favor my father is providing tradition Barbadian wedding cake which is black rum cake pre sliced in cake boxes.

We are giving our guest succulents planted in little white pails which will also double as name place holders… Then we are also doing a “sweeties” table full of home made treats for guests to take home!

We are giving little honey pots full of local honey with ribbon tied to it and a personalized tag… any catchy ideas for the tag?

We’re doing sri lankan wedding cake wrapped up in personlized boxes with our names printed on them the first night (that’s a sri lankan wedding tradition, and the cake is a very dense fruit cake with marzipan on top, similar to british wedding cake).  The second night, my mother and sisters made 150 small jars of our family’s “famous” recipe of strawberry jam.  The dark red perfecly matches our wedding colors, and the jam is a big thiing in our family, so it seemed like the perfect favor for us.  My FI’s sister is nice enough to take care of ordering the cake and boxes for the sri lankan wedding cake, and my mom already did the jams, so favors are done, thank goodness!
