We actually finished registering this weekend. However, a lot of my married friends said to wait a little longer so you don’t register for something that gets discontinued. (Not because you can’t change it, but you don’t want to get part of a bed set then have it get discontinued for ex)

The main reason we did it so “early” is because our parents are wanting ideas for Christmas so we figured we would combine our want lists wedding/holidays

I actually did a google search before registering “Best stores to register for a wedding” haha then just chose the ones that had what we were looking for

I haven’t thought about this too much yet but probably will register sometime in Spring. I like the idea of registering for the holidays like Glide37 mentioned though. We will be registering at a store we can pick up things for our house and or a honeymoon fund.

We went to Macy’s and Crate & Barrel’s wedding registry parties.  It was fun and we got lots of free stuff. I’d recommend going to one of these.

We’re thinking of doing it soon, but can’t really get off our butts.  The reason is we’re sending our Save-The-Date Cards within the next couple of weeks, and I’d like to have as much on our website as possible when they go out.

We registered at Crate & Barrel back in November and we’re going to register at Bed, Bath and Beyond early next year.  We might be adding a honeymoon registry, too.

I believe we’re going to register at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Macy’s. We’re waiting until about 3-6 months out because we don’t want anything to be discontinued. This is more or less for the Macy’s registry and what the Macy’s consultant told me.

We registered in early December due to a few registry events and Christmas ideas for family as well.  We ended up chosing a few places, Macy’s Crate & Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and some random items from Amazon that we couldn’t find in other stores like games and camping gear…  I’ve heard bad things about Target, but not really anywhere else!  Good luck!  PS – don’t try to do it all in one day – its fun but super exhausting!

@whiteorchid:

Macy’s and Crate and Barrel are the two places we want to register. I have never heard of a wedding registry party. How did you find these parties?

Thanks 🙂

We just decided on an engagement part date of February 26th so we’ll probably get our registry started sometime in February in case people want to get us anything off of the registry for the engagement party.

After that I’ll just fill it out online as we go.

We’re registering at Bed Bath and Beyond and probably Dillards. Those are the only two big chain places in FI’s home town.

We did Macy’s since they always have sales and Bed Bath and Beyond because people can use their 20% coupons they get almost every week in the mail 🙂

We will likely be registering in Feb or March. We didn’t want to register too early due to items getting discontinued (as others have said) and because we still need to do an inventory FI’s stuff that he hasn’t unpacked since he last moved a year ago. 🙂  Who knows what treasures could be lurking in there!

We plan on registering at Kohl’s (they are EVERYWHERE in WI–probably just as prevalent as Targets) and Sears. I’ve heard the Macy’s and Crate and Barrel registries are nice due to the parties that they throw occasionally, but I’m focusing both on quality AND budget. I know that those higher end stores have nice things at all price points, but I am positive that I can get a very high quality dish set at Kohl’s for cheaper than a higher end store. We are registering at Sears so the Fiance can get some tools. Not exciting for me, but we will need them for our house.
