We’re going to Jamaica from Sept. 26 – Oct. 1st and staying in an all-inclusive Couples resort called Couples Negril (adults only)

Total was just around 3200…and we also have travel insurance in case the weather turns sour.

Definitely get travel insurance! I have been to the Caribbean in October and maybe had a couple of yucky days, but for the most part we had great weather. Of course, I was on a cruise and if there is bad weather, they can steer you out of it. You wouldn’t be able to do that at a resort, though.

statistically I would say “dont worry about it”.  My cousin couldn’t take her honeymoon till Christmas break (she was an Oct bride) and could NOT end up getting out because of terrible snow storms in NYC.  SO, weather will be weather, I would just plan, possibly take insurance and enjoy!

Hurricane season runs June-November. That’s almost half the year!

THere are some destinations that are more hurricane prone than others.

 Have you considered Aruba?

@Zoie00: We’re date twins AND we’re leaving for our honeymoon on the same date AND we’re looking at all-inclusives in the Caribbean!  We’re leaning toward a Couples resort in Jamaica – not sure which one yet.  Hurricane season is my only concern but like Bliss Honeymoons said, hurricane season is half the year so it’s a risk I’m willing to take (but we do plan on getting the travelers insurance, just in case).

@Bliss Honeymoons: I’m glad you mentioned this – it’s the reason I opened this thread. Hurricans would ruin a honeymoon! I was worried about inclimate weather for our wedding in Sept due to them.

Like another poster said, you SHOULD be okay going in September but definitely get insurance!

We’re leaving for our honeymoon on September 10th and are going to Europe. Flying into Amsterdam and staying for 2 night, traveling to Bruges by train and staying for a night and then heading to Paris by train for 4 nights. Great temperatures that time of year!

We’re date twins and leaving for our honeymoon the same day! We really should look into insurance, regardless. I guess I never really thought too much of it. But we’re going to Antigua. Gahhh can’t wait!
