@clisarahcalibruno:  I have PCOS and I’ve never had that happen. Have you had your AMH checked or had a baseline ultrasound looking at your follicles? Those are good ways to diagnose PCOS.

Hi bees! Well I’ve been on the POAS boards on and off but it’s now officially been over a year of ttc with no pregnancies, and I just had my first consult with a fertility specialist today who confirmed we’ve met the clinical definition of infertility… so it feels appropriate to move over onto these boards now. I know we haven’t been trying as long as some, but I hope it’s okay for me to join here.

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 30/33

Baby #:1

Cycles TTC: 12 cycles

Known fertility issues: Nope

Trying anything new this month?: Just did my first telehealth consult w a fertility specialist, so she’s ordering some tests and we’ll start to rule out issues hopefully. Other than that, trying to BD every other day still–doc said to keep trying naturally since we don’t have any red flags in our medical histories and it never hurts to try. At this point it’s hard to remain hopeful every cycle but time is on our side at least.

POAS/Beta date: Sept 31 or so (CD 14 today)

Just for fun: If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Right now, a lodge in the mountains somewhere sounds pretty lovely

@jen9999:  I’m so sorry bee. I can’t imagine how devastating that must be. You are such a trooper, though, and I love your attitude. Keeping you in my thoughts.

@morecookiesplease:

thanks ladies! I appreciate your good thoughts. I got news that of the 29 mature eggs frozen, 25 thawed and 18 fertilized. Those are in line with standard attrition rates, but gah, the attrition is hard.  We are aiming for 4-5 PGS normal embryos or we will likely do another retrieval, and I’m just so hoping we can get there. Apparently the attrition rate from Day 1 to Day 5/6 is pretty bad – only 30-50% survive – so I’m trying to mentally prepare.  And I’m 38 and hubs is 47, so genetic issues aren’t uncommon either.  Blah.  But!  Also feeling very fortunate that we have 18 Day 1s to work with!

Hey guys! Sorry I disappeared last month. Life is just crazy. I will try to keep up with everyone though!!

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 30/32

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC: 12ish? since Sept of last year, but we were able to see the RE in January after I was diagnosed with PCOS/my husband with low morphology

Known fertility issues: I have PCOS and subclinical hypothyroidism which is controlled now, and my husband has 1% sperm morphology

Trying anything new this month?: Last month we did a retrieval, ended up with 3 normal embryos. This month we are doing a second retrieval to bank some additional embryos in the hopes of being able to have enough for both this child and future children

POAS/Beta date: None this month! My retrieval will be tomorrow

Just for fun: If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I can think of a few places I would rather be than the US lol! Within the US probably Hawaii, outside of the US I would put New Zealand high on my list. Somewhere warm and pretty!
