A Huge CONGRATULATIONS to all the recent BFPs on this thread!

I hope it is okay if I join.  DH and I are over 1 yr TTC.  I am on my 3rd round of clomid and am taking progesterone currently.  I’d between 8-10DPO.  I had spotting (a little pink and a little brown) 3 days ago (I also had a temp dip).  I had my progesterone level tested that same day and it is 30.5 (which my dr says is good).  I’m trying to stay positive and hold off as long as I can before I POAS.

Good Luck everyone!

I’ve been a lurker on the ttc boards, but finally decided to join the party :-).  There is so much great info shared on here I’m not sure why I’ve been silent!

Anyway…here’s my story:

Went off BCP in July.  Im 37 and DH is 43 so I thought this was going to be a long journey.  First month just winged it to see if AF would be regular and she came on time.  Second month I bought some OPK’s after reading about them on here.  I really thought it was another experimental month just trying to figure out my cycles and how to tell when i’m ovulating.   Fast forward to last Thur when AF was late so I decided to POAS even though I didnt think it was possible.  Boy was I wrong!  Got a BFP!!   I was in total shock and to be honest still am!  I’m going to try again today jut to make sure even though I think false positives are rare.

So for all you ladies in your 30’s I’m living proof that age doesnt necessarily mean you will have any trouble.

@ticatica:  That makes me feel better reading that – maybe that is why my cycle was so long.

@Sea_bass:  Good luck for next month!  I think actually I am out for this month as if my cycle is shorter this month the earliest I can test is 30th Sept so its more likely I will be testing in October.

@nzgirl:  We might line up to test together later this month/early October. ๐Ÿ™‚ currently day 3 of AF but FF is wonky and giving me half the month as potential fertile times so I’ll hopefully be doing opk’s.

Congrats to all the newly expectant momma’s on the boards! Its quite early so hopefully a ton more to come! Hope I don’t see many left over on the early October poas board!

@mrs_pugetsound:  Thank you for your support!! I laughed out loud at the “pre-retirement(s)” thing. I’ve brought it up with my family doctor before and I’ve talked about it with Woman’s Health (which is where I get my paps) and neither of them batted an eye or gave me any good advice – “have sex 14 days after your period… HA!” In fact, my family doctor drew the labs that showed the low estrogen leading me to question my fertility, and told me they were all normal! I hope you don’t have to get medical intervention, but if you do, go with a reproductive specialist. GP’s have way too much on their plate as it is, you know?

@ticatica:  I wouldn’t mind at all!!!! =) Thank you so much!

@pretzel:  I sure hope so! Thanks, and congrats again.

@anotherbee:  I hope that dip is an implantation dip! However, with all your spotting, be prepared for the worst – JUST in case. I’m glad your temp is going back up though!

@ElopeGirl:  I KNEW IT!!!!!!! Your DH is a genious! Congratulations, happy and healthy 9 months to you!

@MySunshine:  I’m so sad that your bleeding has picked up =( You won’t be able to TTC again until 2013?

@MissyKris:  How long is your LP? When in doubt, it can’t hurt to begin taking a B complex and/or a B complex. I’m so sorry that AF showed =(

@LuluH:  Yeah, he will be able to tell with the Progesterone bloodwork I’m pretty sure. Our bodies DO surprise us, and I’m really hoping that mine does soon =) Heheh.

@mrs_pugetsound:  I just saw your update post. I’m so sad that you think that you are out =( When we first were TTC, we didn’t have a timeline like that per se, but at about month 3, my best friend got engaged. She asked me to be maid of honor, and her wedding is July 2013… I felt like, “There’s no way we will still be trying in October…” and here we are, almost October and newly diagnosed with issues. It’s very disappointing. I think pressuring myself to “get it done” just made everything worse. Try very hard not think about due dates and timing and stuff, because just TTC itself is stressful enough. Major baby dust to you! FWIW, I have a background in the medical field, and I don’t think there is any permanent damage to your lady parts with your history, but I’m not a doctor. Congratulations on beating those disease, that’s amazing! My cousin has had amenorrhea in the past for the same reasons, and I think once you restore your body with nutrients and your cycle is restored, that everything is back to normal. I think, not sure!!!

@MrsStrawberry24:  Yes, we are getting an SA. I’m so happy to just, put that to bed and not have to worry if DH is a contributing factor. At the same time, it makes me a little sad that it could really be “all my fault.” The soonest that I would do a round of Clomid is November or December because of my best friend’s wedding in July 2013. I may change my mind though… I don’t think I should have to put my whole life on hold just because she is getting married. She’s very understanding. Please let me know how you do on Clomid! I want to know all your side effects and stuff. Are you blogging?

@Blondee:  I do not have endo but it, too is in my family history. Get your butt to the doctor, girl! Being scared of the diagnosis is not good – if you have it, it could just be getting worse, and you’ll be wasting time! It is ruled out simply enough I think, with blood work and/or an ultrasound.

@nzgirl:  Congrats on shark week!!!! I mean, I’m sorry, but at least now you have an answer and your body is that much closer to regulating!

Thanks @Macintosh for starting a poll! Maybe someone should do a roll call? I will if no one wants to!

CD or DPO:  I am CD20 today, thinking I may be 1 DPO? Had a temp spike today, but with my new news, I’m not exactly optimistic.

Symptoms:  Breast freaking tenderness!!! For the last three days! I thought it was muscle soreness but it’s not going away. Man, I usually get breast tenderness in the middle of the TWW but never around O. FML.

POAS Date:  Maybe 09/23? Who knows with my random cycles. lol.

Any tips for distracing yourself during TTC? Plenty! Focus on sports, things are exciting right now! Read a book? Especially a trilogy (I just finished 50 Shades, highly recommend it! Or you could reread the Hobbit, since the movie is coming out in EIGHTY THREE DAYS!!!!!!!!!! YES! Where my LOTR freaks at!?!?). Or start a TV series on Netflix… Lost was good, Heroes was good, I’ve watched some Breaking Bad which was good, or Rescue Me is addicting. Make a commitment to do yoga 3-4 times per week. Create a menu for the week is also good =) We just started doing that. It’s been good =)

@MySunshine:  Oh noooo! Boo! Well, FWIW, based on FF’s guessed O dates for me for the last six months, it has continuously been very wrong. So you guys will still be TTC but may be out of town?

@ChuckNorris:  Unfortunately the only way to diagnose endo is through lap surgery ๐Ÿ™ They can give you a diagnosis based on symptoms alone, but the only way to know you definitely have it is through surgery.

And I know I need to get to the doctor.. You think I would know better, I’m a nurse! But I’m just scared. Plus I have to wait until I’m on DH’s insurance.

P.s. – hoping this month is your month!!! Baby dust!
