I’m new to this site, but I love it!! I have always dreamed of a summer wedding… My Fiance and have settled on the first weekend of September… My mom keeps reminding me that it’s still summer until September 21.
Now that I think about it, I think my color scheme will work a bit better in early September. I’m planning to do teal and purple (like eggplant). Will these colors work for that time of year?
And how do I kindly respond to the people who say “Oh a fall wedding will be so nice!” when I tell them we’re thinking September? I want to say “NOOOOO it’s NOT fall yet!” haha 🙂

Your colors don’t really read as an obvious season so I think it’s fine. Just don’t have a bunch of pumpkins and fall leaf motifs or, conversely, seashells etc. Depending on where you live, the first week of September will definitely still feel like summer.

I’m getting married the first weekend in September, too! I consider it summer for sure. Personally, I think those colors will be great.
When people say something about a Fall wedding, you can just brush it off or say “It will be early September so it will still be warm!”

It’s summer. I think of Labor day as being the last big summer celebration. I would say a “Labor Day Weekend” wedding and people will for sure think summer than fall.

I’m getting married in Sept too and my colors are pink, orange, and yellow, so uh…yeah, I think it counts as summer (I hope!) Your colors sound great and really, who’s gonna be like ‘hey, your flowers are gorgeous but I really don’t think the color ‘fits’ the season’?

I think add some small yellow accents and bam! its’ summer!

I got married 2 weekends after labor day and still treated it as summer! If you want to go with a summer feeling, do so and people will catch on really quickly. Our reception was on the beach and we used ocean inspired things (waves, starfish, anchors) on our invites and Save-The-Date Cards. The weather where the wedding was is often very nice in Sept. so no one mentioned fall.
As far as your colors, I see eggplant as a more fall color but maybe that’s just me. Not that this is bad but you mentioned you want to avoid fall.

We got married Labor Day weekend – it was definitely still summer weather but I think you can do either summer or fall colors. There’s already a ton of fall decor in stores and all the fall clothing has come in so it’s not that weird – like doing fall colors in July.
