@sept2013bride:  ooh, you’re in Brisbane?

Yeah weather permitting, we’ll be having the lakeside ceremony stage and the Ferntree Room (the smaller one without the piano – i just love the idea of dancing on the balcony near the trees, with those fairy lights!).

What venue is yours at?

@amyinbrisbane:  Yep I’m in Brisbane. We looked at 2 venues in Brisbane (Walkabout & Bundaleer) and 2 venues on the Gold Coast Hinterland (Ecostudio Fellini & O’Reilley’s). We were going to do the lakeside ceremony and hadn’t decided on reception rooms, but prefered the ferntree room.

We are getting married at Ecostudio Fellini, Mudgeeraba.

We really wanted to have our dogs at our wedding and Walkabout Creek is on National Forest 🙁

@sept2013bride:  Yeah… oh I’ll have to google your venue, never heard of it but I’m sure it’s really beautiful! We couldn’t look outside of Brisbane as half the wedding is interestate guests and extra distance would have confused them.

I know what you mean about wanting your pet in your ceremony! I have a Burmese cat, he’s our only pet and we have no kids, so I’d have loved it if he was involved in any way but 1) he’s a cat and is scared of different environments and 2) yeah, WalkAbout Creek is a National Park!

  • Wedding: September 2013

Wedding Date: September 21, 2013

Engagement Length:  9 months

Colors: Bright pink and orange

Theme: Not really a theme – just a casual, fun, bright country party

Wedding Party(#s): 3 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen

Ceremony (where): Celebrations Unlimited

Reception (where): same as ceremony

Dress Style: David’s Bridal Style 9V9743

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Pro Hair – DIY Makeup (I worked at

Honeymoon Location: Not sure, yet. Somewhere tropical. We’re going to wait until November to go on a honeymoon. The thought of rushing off on vacation immediately following the wedding, completely stresses me out!

Flowers: I’m DIYing and using silk so we can prep everything ahead of time. Mostly orange and pink roses. I love gerber daisies, but I feel like that will make it seem a little too “summerish” for a September wedding. Here is a photo of the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets.

Personal Pic

First Dance Song: “I Wanna Grow Old With You,” Adam Sandler (Yup, that’s so us!)

Centerpieces: Tall colorful glass vases with orange and pink pomanders on top. Haven’t finished them yet, pictures to come soon. But I absolutely fell in LOVE with the faces. They’re so cool looking!

Food/Menu: Casual buffet of pulled pork sandwiches, fried chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, and baked macaroni and cheese. Our cocktail hour will have the basic meat, cheese and veggie trays along with the Pennsylvania traditional homemade cookies and candy. We’re also setting up a s’mores bar.

Cake Flavor: Chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, along with at least one other flavor TBD.

Favors: S’mores to go.

DJ/Band/Ipod: DJ – ELP Entertainment out of Chambersburg, PA

Bachelorette (when/what): Bachelorette party sometime in August or early September hosted by my maid of honor. I think she’s planning a girls night out somewhere near where I live now. My close friends from home are coming down for that, but most of the girls are local to where I live now. My mom is hosting a bridal shower at the end of August in my hometown. That will include most of my family, my fiance’s mom, aunt, and my close friends from here will be traveling to my hometown for the shower.
