Hi date twin!! I know what your going through I feel the same way.  Im a nurse and work night shift 7p to 730a and could not force myself to hit the gym on way home.  I actually had to pass the enternce of gym on my way home and even with clothes in the back I couldnt get myself to pull in (sad huh haha).  I feel like every year the scale keeps trending up.  I actually just started working out since March and I used to be very active and athletic.  I am trying to eat healthy and smaller portions.  I am also trying to increase my veggie intake like instead of taco night make it with corn, black beans, avacado, and zuccini (dosent make my mouth water like regular beef tacos but oh well).  I defintely need to be movitated with this winter and with it getting dark at 5pm, makes me wanna just lay in pajamas once it starts getting dark when I’m not working.

Hi! I’d love to be part of this group too. I’d like to lose 20lbs before our wedding.

@Crabbabs: I just looked up the recipe for sassy water – sounds delish!  I’ve been struggling to keep up with hydrating with the cold weather, I’m going to try this.

Great idea!  I have gained a lot of weight in the past year and half – between having money for food and sitting at my desk for 9-12 hours a day, being a lawyer has not been kind to my waistline. I’d like to lose 40 lbs, ideally, but I’d be happy just being healthier.  I am joining a gym after the New Years, and finally sticking to a resolution 🙂

I love the idea of this thread – maybe we can post things we did that further our goals?  I’m trying to avoid the vending machine (that is less than 50 ft away from my desk!) for the rest of the week.

This is a great idea!  I have been working on this since February and it seems every time I lose weight, I hit a plateau and give up.  I am 5’3″ and I was at 172 when I started.  But I am a size 12/14…There’s a lot of muscle there.  I am currently at 163 and it feels great!  My goal is to get down to 155 by September.  I am the type to lose weight when stressed too, so the last few weeks might help.  I am in an office all day too, but I have a local gym only 3 minutes away and I go there during my lunch break.  I get to teach step aerobice there!  It’s definitely movitation!  I have relly cut my protion sizes down and that has helped so much.

I’m trying to make one change at a time, I feel like I’ll be better at sticking to things than trying it change everything at once. For now I’ve decided not not drink any drinks with calories in it (pop, juice etc) when I can drink wAter instead. So far so good 🙂

yes yes yes I need this thread!!

I’m 5’4.5 (that extra half inch is very important haha!) and I think I’m about 174-178;bs right now. I refuse to get on the scale until I KNOW for a fact I’ve lost weight. I’d rather go by clothes fitting me than the scale Embarassed

So I’d like to get to 145, however would be happy at 155. I love food, mostly chips, salty snacks etc. but don’t say no to chocolate if it’s around lol!

I also love to have a few drinks in the evening, so I think that part will be my biggest challenge, the really empty calories there.

Anyway, I’ve started working out (yesterday!) and we’ll see how it goes. When I was younger I could knock the weight off like a guy when I put my mind to it, but the aging factor has gotten rid of that for me (37) and now I really have to work at it. I also find it a stuggle to drink as much water as I should so I’ll be checking out that fancied up water thing mentioned above!!

Good luck everyone, lets continue to help each other out!
