Wow this is beautiful!  Maybe something simple like organza fabric draped around the rails?  It would make it light and decorative.

One thing you can do is use old pallette wood to make a small “stage” very easily. I have a friend who makes these things herself…very easy to do. Haha. Just google some tutorials. And most furniture/hardware stores will give your their wood pallettes for free.

What a pretty location! 🙂  I pictured a couple of different things that you could do with the space to create a pretty but simple altar

Both of these are really beautiful and probably wouldn’t be too difficult to construct.

My church also did something for their altar display for like a month back in the fall, where they took leafless trees (maybe from a nursery or a bunch of large branches put together) and wrapped them in Christmas lights.  Ignore the word Christmas, because it didn’t necessarily look like a Christmas display.  It was very simple and elegant and so beautiful!  I was going to try to make some for my reception, but I think we have run out of time and money!

@sablemuse:  we actually did it ourselves it was probably $100 including fabric wood and the chandelier. But ya I think it would be a lot less if you use a door frame since it will be smaller also
