What about volunteering? You could get a real sense of fulfillment out of that without the stresses of a job 🙂

I am currently searching for a job, so I know how you feel! I just graduated with my master’s in education and am looking for my first teaching job. I have an excellent educational background, awesome references, varied work experience, and even some family connections. I’ve applied to 7 or 8 posted positions, and sent my resume to probably 10 other places that didn’t have positions posted yet, just to ask for future consideration. And after all this… I have gotten ONE callback for an interview thus far (I began the process in May). Everyone keeps telling me that I will get more callbacks and end up with a few job offers, but that doesn’t prevent me from feeling bummed out about it most of the time. I know people in this field who have been applying for over a year and never gotten a job offer… I am trying to stay positive, but it’s hard when there are so many fewer jobs than there are candidates out there. It’s so frustrating when I am SO ready to begin my career and have no certainty about where I will end up. I think the only thing we can do is keep looking for a job and try not to take it personally when you don’t get a response.

If you don’t need the income of a job, I agree with the PP who suggested volunteering.  It’s easy to find a volunteer position that fulfills you – and, if you continue with the job search, you’ll have something cool to put on your resume later. Good luck!

ME!!!!! Ugg I feel ya.  Today I found out a good friend of mine isn’t coming to bridal shower on Saturday and I was really looking forward to seeing her.  In addition my Maid/Matron of Honor is doing a shower for me,  but I don’t feel like she is putting as much effort into mine as I did into hers 6 months ago (another story altogether).  Its in 3 weeks and she hasn’t sent out any invitations or anything.  Fiance has been looking for a permanent job for almost 1 1/2 years with NOTHING but temp work.  SO frustrating all the dissapointment and he’s got so much education. Ok Monday almost over and vent over.

Hugs to you! Mondays stink!
