Are you getting alterations? A dress that doesn’t fit you will be disappointing, but once altered to your body, you’ll likely like it again.

HisBrownEyedGirl:  Awww im sorry you weren’t happy with your first encounter with the new dress. Try and keep in mind that a dress before alterations can really be a far cry from what the end product will look like. Im a short girl with odd proportions, so I have developed a very good eye for seeing things in a raw state vs. the end result. Trust me, if your dress hasn’t gone through alterations yet, at least give yourself until after that to freak out. I would bet my weight in gold (that’s a lot of gold! lol) that when you do get the dress on post alterations you will feel beautiful and you will love it much more than you did this last time.

Girl, no. That dress is amazing on you. Once you get it fitted, pressed and something sexy on underneath it, your mind will be blown. It is very flattering.

You look gorgeous.  I think we’re all our own worst critics.  I absolutley love my dress every time I have it on (I just had the final fitting yesterday!) but I hate some of the pictures of myself in it.  Nothing is really going to fix that–I just can’t help but nitpick the way I look in photos.  I feel like a knockout in real life, but the pictures (mostly taken by my friends/family at the poorly-lit dress store) make me look like I’m carrying an extra 30 lbs around my waist, mostly because they’re taken at terrible angles.  My photographer managed to get our engagement pictures to turn out great, so hopefully she works her same magic on our wedding day.  If not, well, I think it’s far more important to feel great about the dress at the wedding than it is to feel great about how it photographs!

HisBrownEyedGirl:  Saying you don’t like a wedding dress that doesn’t fit is like going into a store and trying on a size 16 pair of pants when you wear a size 12, then saying you don’t like how they look.

Of course you don’t!

I think it’s wise to wait until later to get your alterations done, if you are starting thyroid medication. It will be hard to wait to see the final prodcut, but so worth it in the end.

HisBrownEyedGirl:   You look stunning!  The dress is lovely on you and you have a wonderful hourglass figure.  Once the alterations are complete I think you will be thrilled with the result.  You are beautiful!!
