Soooo, I bought this gown – Watters & Watters Florence – at the very last Running of the Brides in October, which explains why it’s so wrinkly (and excuse the fact that I’m standing on a sheet in my porch). At the time I was uncertain that I wouldn’t be able to feel confident enough in the trumpet shape but that if I loved the dress, maybe I could overcome my fears.
But I just tried the dress on with a bolero I bought and I HATE the way I look. I really need to get a ball gown or an A-line dress or I will spend the whole day trying to hide my stomach. I don’t want to just look back on the pictures and fret about how thick I think I look. And come to think of it, I’m not wild about how the dress photographs in general, although I do think it’s perfect for an October wedding.
I feel like crying. I don’t want to do the whole dress shopping thing again and I’m 10 months out. Why can’t I feel confident enough to wear the tight gown? I wish I had better self esteem.

Oy. It’s fixed now, sorry about that.

Aaargh. Okay. I started from scratch with the uploads, hopefully it’s working now.

I think it looks great dear. Work on your confidence because the dress is fine. I can relate to not feeling spectacular about looks, but there was a reason you chose THAT dress at the time.

That dress is BEAUTIFUL and you look great in it! It will be perfect for a fall wedding. Also, professional photography can do wonders for a dress. I wasn’t wild about mine in amateur photos, but I’ve seen a few sneak peeks of our pro pics and it looks fabulous.

For what it’s worth, I think you look great in that gown, and you will look even better when you are wearing all of the proper foundations (i.e. supportive undergarments such as a long-line strapless bra.) I totally think you can rock this dress with confidence. If I did not think so, I would have just closed out of this thread and would not have said anything. You look very good in this gown, so do not be afraid to wear it!

What stomach?? The dress is gorgeous, wear a shawl if it doesn’t look good with a bolero. You look amazing in it. Stop worrying!
