I understand your frustration but what a wonderful “problem” to be having! 😉

I guess you pick something you like and stop looking. Kinda like what you did with your fiance 😉

@ms.oregon.state: I just had to pick out my new engagement ring, since I lost the first one. I thought it was going to be fun, but I ended up making Mr. KO make the final decision because I just didn’t feel right doing it.

Oh, it’s so hard! Fiance told me, send me the one. And I was like. HOW DO I PICK THE ONE?

I totally get you.  I’m getting an upgrade for my 10th anniversary and I was OBSESSED with trying to find my new ring.  I drove everyone, and I mean everyone, around me crazy.  I finally got so sick of it all and thankfully found a ring I love. It’s being made now so we’ll see.

Have you tried on different styles?  Think about the comfort of your ring for everyday wear. I LOVE high solitaires but found that style so annoying for every day wear, despite how much I loved the ring.  My ring would catch on everything (this is a ring I just wore for the time being to see if I like the style).  I also found rings that touched the side of my other fingers (pinky and middle finger) really annoying, but that’s just me.  Hoping this might help a bit in your search.  Also, I love tiny, little micropave diamonds but my jeweler has me convinced that they need to be replaced since diamonds tend to easily fall out often since the prongs have to be so small in order to see the diamond.  Just another thought with that too.

I think having your fiance make the final decision is a great idea.  Maybe give him a few options you love but in the end, he’s the one that picked it out.

Best of luck!

I loved every ring that I saw in photos, but that all changed when I started actually putting them on my finger. That said, have you actually physically tried any on? Once you do, you can identify what elements you like and don’t like, which really helps narrow things down during the custom process. And as Mrs.Lotus said, think about physical comfort and durability issues, too. They really are important for such a large, long-term purchase.

I was in the SAME boat. He asked me to ring shop with him and before I knew it, I was trying on ring after ring, liking one thing but not another. Finally we went with custom designing it. I picked out attributes from all the rings I liked and the jeweler drew up a couple sketches. One was perfect so we went with that one! I havent seen it since though since he wants to keep the proposal a surprise 🙂

Have you been to a jewelry store to try them on, because once  you see them on your finger it reall helps eliminate the styles you dont like
