Hello everyone! We’ve decided to go the custom setting route for our heirloom 3ct round brilliant diamond. We are considering a simple pave band or possible a side stone setting. I want to avoid anything too flashy as the center stone will already be a good size on my 5.5 finger. I also don’t want to take away from the beauty of the center stone. Advice? Opinions?
Show me your 3ct round stone rings!

Mine will probably will be to flashy for you. But my Darling Husband design it himself. I recently change it up a bit. It use to be a square halo. I have a 3.54 round brillant center diamond set in a round halo and the shank has diamonds as well. IMO I think side stones would look Gorgeous with your round center diamond. I’m sure whatever you decide to go with it will be beautiful.

I don’t think you could ever go wrong with pave if you are looking for a little something extra, my own rings are pave. However, I love a classic round with the tapered baguettes! Its just so classy looking. That would be my vote 🙂

I would recommend a plain setting for that large of a stone. A simple band in gold or platinum. Then for the wedding band I’d do a blingier piece. Here’s some inspiration:
