I reserved mine already too… and I’m not even sure I’m changing my name. I think it’s fine.

Um totally not a weirdo.  I actually “reserved” my email before we even got engaged…..even though no one in America would have my first name and his last name combination.  And even though I wasn’t even planning on taking his last name. I just wanted to make sure I had it if I wanted it.

I sent him an email from it and he got a kick out of it.

I set up my married name e-mail before he proposed.  *hangs head in shame*  So, you’re totally fine and sane.

I was thinking about this today! I signed up for a new gmail address with my new name but I don’t know if I’m going to use it. Switching to a new email is always a pain, but I am thinking like 10 years down the road when I’m more established with my new name, will it be weird and/or confusing to still have one in my old name? I dunno.

With gmail you can do the POP/forwarding thing where you can have all mail that’s sent to another account forwarded to your gmail account. I do it for 2 old accounts I have. The mail is sent almost immediately. That way you can phase out the old account without having to go between 2 accounts all the time.

You can customize the settings too, so some is sent to a folder rather than the inbox, etc. It’s kinda nice.

@Ms. Peach: Oooh, that’s good to know, I’ll keep that in mine for my decision! 🙂
