I LOVE this flower girl dress, but I just can’t justify the $160 price tag. How hard to you think it would be to make this? To me, it just looks like yards and yards of tulle sewn on to a simple bodice. I’m pretty handy with a sewing machine, so I think I might be able to figure it out. Plus, the fabric store by my house is having a Buy One Yard, Get Two Free Sale this weekend.

It looks like tulle on the bottom right? It’s relatively easy to do the bottom and without sewing, like a tutu but longer tulle. The top, I know even at walkmart they have the elastic fabric you could just circle around and sew to the tulle band. Add a big fabric flower and some feathers and there you go, seems easy enough

I totally think you can do it. Just have the little girl try it on and make sure she can walk in it!

You could also get a simple sundress at Walmart to serve as a base (and for some coverage) and then layer the tulle on top of it/add the flowers and the halter strap.

Looks pretty easy to me. You could even do a tie-on tutu but longer, for the skirt if that’d make it easier.

@inspiredcreations: Oh, I like that idea of a simple dress as a ‘base’.
Thanks ladies! I have more confidence that I can do this now!
