For me it wasn’t numb, but it hurt for a LONG time – like a year.  It did slowly get better and now my son is almost 2 and things are back to normal.  Have to talked to your OB/GYN?

MeandYou:  I am 12 weeks PP and haven’t sex with my husband yet, we are working up to it and I am quite anxious. i had a difficult 2 day labour, ended up baby’s shoulder was caught and ended up getting an episiostomy which was through 3 layers down to muscle. I felt numb after the birth for maybe 3 days max then it became really tender and extremely painful.i am only now feeling better.

i have heard you can take up to a year to feel “normal” again but I think 9 months with numbness is a very long time to not have any improvement. I’m in the UK also and if I were you I would go back to your GP who should be able to help and advise you and hopefully refer you to a gyno.

hope you get some answers.
