I have very thin hair and am looking for a good shampoo and conditioner that won’t weigh my hair down. I am currently using Organix Biotin & Collagen Shampoo/Conditioner but it weighs down my hair and makes it really greasy (have to wash hair everyday now). Can anybody recommend a good set? I don’t care about the price as long as it leaves my hair looking fabulous 🙂

I recently started using Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner and really like it. Doesn’t weigh my hair down at all and leaves me feeling very clean.

I use Aveeno Pure Renewal. It makes my fine, greasy hair very managable without weighing it down. It also helps keep it less greasy longer.

Commenting to follow… I definitely need recommendations as well.

Briogio blossom & bloom ginseng + biotin volumizing shampoo and conditioner. omg its so wonderful.
I have very fine hair and usually switch between one or two store brand volumizing/hydrating shampoo/conditioner combos and this shampoo. I used to use bumble & bumble thickening, but I found that it only worked for short bursts of time, and then I’d have to phase it out and phase it back in again to get the same results. I find that changing between several different formulas keeps each one “working” longer… maybe because I don’t let my hair get used to any particular formula.

Thanks guys! I have used a sample of the bumble and bumble thickening shampoo and conditioner (only 2 washes) but I wasn’t a fan of the smell. I’ll definitely buy the Aveeno and Briogio and see which one works better for me. I am at my wits end with my hair!

Nioxin is great, I have used both 1 and 2 (there are different levels). I have been using it for a year and people compliment me all the time how thick it has gotten. the only downside is that it smells minty.

are you blonde? Paul Mitchell forever blonde is the greatest shampoo I have ever used.

used to be 🙁 just went back to brunette because all the years of bleaching really wrecked havoc on my hair.
Thanks! I will look into it. Looks like it’s time for a trip to Sephora 🙂

My holy grail is Matrix brand volumizing shampoo. I don’t use conditioner because it weighs my hair down and makes it greasy, but I do use Aussie hair insurance spray to help detangle.

I currently use Oribe which is great but much too expensive to continue with. Heard good things about Christophe Robin’s salt scrub and rose shampoo/conditioner so that’s what I’ll be trying next 🙂

I have baby fine hair and it is color-treated. I only wash my hair with shampoo a couple times a week. The other days, I just rinse with water only. This is a tip I got from my stylist, and I have to say, my hair looks better and color lasts longer when I don’t shampoo every day. All conditioners weigh my hair down, so I rarely condition – if I do, I shampoo right after to take the oil out. My hair styles better when it is a little “dirtier”, though it’s never really dirty.

+1 for Bumble and Bumble. I also like the John Frieda Volume (in the teal tube, can’t remember the name) for a drugstore substitute.

I am definitely going to look into this, I think my local drugstore carries this brand, Thanks!
Oribe definitely looks pricey
but if it works, maybe it’s worth it? I’ll see if I can get samples/travel size to see if I like it before dishing out that kind of cash.
I was going on washing my hair only twice a week a little while ago but then switched shampoo’s and forgot what I used before the organix and now I have to wash my hair everyday because of how greasy and weighed down it gets. Did your hair dresser recommend a specific shampoo?
That’s normally how I remember shampoos I use too, by the color of the bottle
I’ll definitely keep all of this in mind when I go to the drugstore today and see what I come out with.
