So this is my dress. It is not very forgiving and I was pretty paranoid about finding any kind of shapewear. Screen Shot 2018-09-10 at 6.21.06 PM

And then I found this. Once the bra straps and the back strap were removed you couldn’t see it at all.  I’ve never worn shapewear before I so have no basis of comparison but it smoothed everything out and wasn’t terribly uncomfortable.  I wore it the entire day when I had my first fitting.

onesailorsnurse :  How does this thing stay in place if you remove all the straps? Is it just tight enough that it still does the job?

futuremrs2020 :  The back strap is meant to be removed for low-back dresses, that was the intent.  Technically, the bra straps are removable so you can wear them different ways but they showed with my dress so we just took them off.  There is elastic under the breasts that also kind of helps keep everything in place. I’m honesty thinking of just cutting the cups off but I haven’t decided for sure on that.

xraychick01 :  They are all removable. The bra straps are meant to be switched around based on your dress, cross back, halter or whatever. The back strap is supposed to be removed for lower backs.  Here’s a pic with the back strap removed.

Definitely wondering the same thing. I found the aforementioned shape wear before but the entire back of my dress is cut out so even this backless shapewear would show because it has fabric coming in toward the middle. I’m worried I might be out of luck.

Sorry,  a bit of a tangent , but does this   amazing looking garment have a snap crotch  opening or do you have to take the whole thing ( and therefore  dress too ) off to pee?

I had a low back dress and I wore a low back bustier from Le Mystere and a pair of spanx shorts. We tried sewing in boob cups into the dress but that didn’t work because my dress was a sheath with no built in support. The bra itself didn’t do anything to control pooch, and I’m fafg if you have a lot of tummy there it might cause a muffin top, idk, that’s what the lady at the bra store told me, but I didn’t have that issue

Here is my dress so you ca see how low it does in the back. Your dress is beautiful. Is the lace see through or lined?

ETA: photo didn’t seem to upload so I added it again below

elderbee :  It doesn’t have snaps, unfortunately. However, you don’t have to take it off because it has a gusset. It’s hard to explain but there is an opening with a separate piece of fabric across it, it is supposed to open when you sit but I’m paranoid so I just held that little piece all the way to the side. Not my favorite thing but it worked fine.
