I’m going to be the devils advocate and suggest you dont buy any shapewear and just ask the seamstress to put in bra cups for you. The reason I say this is because I have spent $100 on shapewear of different brands and they are AMAAZING shapewear and truly do work. However, when I put it on under my dress, all it did was push my back skin higher and made me have “back cleavage” (btw I am not overweight). The consultant suggested to actually go bare underneath except for panties and once I did that I felt soo much better and looked so much better in my dress.
@kveloso: +1 Built-in undergarments are typically the best way to go because really good backless shapewear will end up costing you a pretty penny. Or your seamstress could even recommend shapewear brands/styles.
This Ender Legard “Carmen” is one that goes low and it really holds you in, since it’s a stretch corset, but it costs upwards of $560. Yikes!
But Va Bien is way less expensive, and the reviews say it actually works pretty well (and runs about $90). I’m not sure if your dress is strapless, but they have a strapless one.
