I went to a place that fits you for bras and such. I ended up with a longline bra. I’m heavier chested (easily DD, although I haven’t been sized in awhile), and was worried about going strapless, and wanted something that helped to “suck in the waist”. It worked.

Check out Rago brand shapewear.  They have lots of styles and the quality is great.  I also like that they use flexible boning that lays flat so you don’t see it under clothes.

Ideally, you should wear a long-line bra and some type of shaper on the bottom. Many people love SPANX, but I personally don’t like the thick, pantyhose-like quality of the only pair of SPANX that I have ever tried. Perhaps they are different now.
