@flowermower:  All money has always been “our” money, just in seperate accounts. We live together, have vehicles/bills/pets together, and have always just split everything. Then his kids started staying with us, and with that new set of bills it was just getting to confusing to keep saying “is this meal your turn or mine? wanna split it?”

So, a couple of weeks back, we just combined everything and are SOO pleased with how much easier it’s making our lives 🙂

All financial resources and responsibilities are shared in our household. It was the easiest way for us to handle things. Keeping track of multiple accounts was too much work, and I’m too lazy for that. lol

we put each others names on all of our accounts, but we never got around to combining everything.  I have a mortgage and utilities and school loans on a auto pay schedule, and he has his own banking system at another bank and we just haven’t bit the bullet.  We agreed to use his credit card for all purchases so we can get the points and then he pays it each month, but I still put some things on my card that I am embarrassed about (hello, afternoon baskin robins ice cream).  I tell him about it and he laughs, I think I’m just scarred from my dad criticizing all of my moms purchases growing up.  We both have good jobs and don’t make crazy purchases, so I know we’ll get to it eventually.
