We were in London for our one year anniversary. I woke up to a huge bouquet of flowers and my favorite coffee. We had a great day and then he took me to Hyde Park. We were stroling around as he told me that a photographer is coming for a couple foto shoot. As the sun started setting we found ourself by the Fountain of Joy. And he proposed….

story also to be found here:

We got engaged a month ago today in Mont Saint Michel. I knew it would happen on our vacation to France, but not when or where. He decided we should go to the evening sound and light show in the abbey and managed to dawdle along for an hour so that we’d be on the terrace at sunset and proposed in a little alcove very quietly & privately by asking me to have many more adventures with him. Just found this pic yesterday on Capucinne’s insta, and it’s way better than any of my ring pics. Here’s my sapphire, emerald, topaz, & diamond cluster!

Well no vacay ๐Ÿ˜‚ – I proposed in the kitchen while we were having wine and cheese! Then we sort of exchanged rings since we both had them (2 women). That was way back in 2012!!

This might not be as remarkable as some other stories, but it’s mine and I love telling it.

So I chose the ring. I was with him when he purchased them, and he said that he’ll propose when he’s ready, but after getting my grandfather’s blessing. It just so happened that we were visiting my family the next weekend anyway.

Well I was in my mom’s room talking to her and my sister when I saw he and my grandfather leave my grandfather’s room. I could feel my heart speed up because I knew exactly what they were talking about. He walked into my mom’s room smiling from ear to ear. I was so nervous and he wouldn’t let me leave the room. He finally said “I got what I came here for.”  Then right there, in front of my mom and my sister he proposed to me! He was crying and he couldn’t even put the ring on my finger.

I think it’s very telling that he chose to do it right then and there because he knows how important my family is to me. And my Mother-In-Law wanted him to propose in October at one of thier family events, but he broke all of the rules and did it on his terms.

wrkbrk :  Nope, he picked out the color scheme himself. I have a ring I wear on my right hand that has a ruby in it, so he wanted to avoid red on the engagement ring. It was important to me that the center stone be a sapphire, rather than a diamond, for a whole variety of reasons, but the other stones were simply what matched his color idea.

Although, an acquaintance of my mom’s who is interested in things like gems, said upon seeing it, that the stones are very lucky and that it’s a very unusual and auspicious combination, so I think that’s a good sign.

My story isn’t super romantic, we were cleaning his car and he forgot he’d hidden the ring in the trunk so I ended up finding it on accident ๐Ÿ˜› He’d had it for a while and was beginning to overthink how he wanted to do it. We then stayed up late that night in wait for an early morning flight and that’s when he asked me. There wasn’t a grand gesture and while I’m kinda bummed I never got to experience the surprise aspect, the proposal was definitely him… klutzy lol.

We’re not married yet but I just got my band recently and wanted to share!

MiaSuperstar :  wow that solitaire is GORGEOUS. Do you mind sharing specs? I’d never ask in person but I get so curious on here you know…๐Ÿ˜‚

Also, what kind of wedding band do you have? I’m starting to think about mine. I think I want 2 like yours, one for either side.

That’s so exciting!!

My fiance took me to the Maldives. He set up a boat ride, which took us to a private little island next to the island our hotel was on, and there we had cocktails waiting for us. After that, he led me to where a bottle was buried in the sand. I dug it out and read the note in which he asked me to marry him (and other sweet things!), and when I looked up he was on one knee with the ring. We then had a torchlit dinner with our own cook and waiters who set up on the other end of the island (not a very big island lol). It was absolutely amazing and I cannot believe that he went through all the trouble of my dream proposal!! We’re getting married this Saturday!! Bottom pic is with my wedding band ๐Ÿ™‚

2 days ago, August 6th, my now Fiancé got down on 1 knee during an 8 mile hike in Mt. Rainier National Park. We were in the middle of Spray Falls with my parents and my younger brother (aka photographer). 16 years of knowing each other and  I’ve never heard him stumble over his words, he was so sweet and nervous. I love that we could share this with my family. Perfection.

youmaysayimadreamer :  It was on Christmas 2012 morning!  I was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and our Holiday dinner.  When he came into the kitchen and got down on one knee.  It may not be so romantic for some but it was perfect for us.  My now hubby is not complicated and “tries” to be romantic.  He is my besty and all of his efforts (continuous to this day) is what makes our lives wonderful,  here’s my wedding set and one of our engagement pixsmallerclose up small
