Anyone have wedding ring finger tattoos?
For our one year anniversary, we are planning to get tattoos on our wedding fingers.
Probably the date of our wedding.
We’re runners (I’m also a duathlete and triathlete) and sometimes we take our rings off during races so we don’t lose them. I just did a triathlon and was afraid that I was going to lose my ring during my swim (luckily i didnt). One of the reasons behind getting a tattoo is that when we take it off, we still have “something on” but the main reason is that we want to get a little wild for first anniversary 😀
Share your wedding ring tattoos if you have one!

Tattoos that tiny get blurry so easily. I’ve never seen a ring-finger tattoo that withstood the test of time :-/

You wore your wedding ring for a triathlon? I left mine at home for a 5K.
If you really want the tat and are comfor table with the maintenance and possibility of it looking awful go for it, but personally I’d get tattooed elsewhere and get cheap stand-in rings.

Tattoos on hands & fingers fade sooo fast, and that is still a better outcome than the blurry blown out mess they can become. The skin on your hands is really thin and just does not take tattoos that well. Most photos you see of them are when they are brand new, try six weeks, six months, a year later.
Just leave the rings at home for triathlons (you are still married) or get a Qalo ring or something.

My cousin has a wedding ring tattoo because his job doesn’t allow him to wear an actual ring. It’s simple, just a single line that goes into a heart and then back into a line, kind of like an EKG line. They’ve been married 5 years and it looks brand new still.

What about doing a little henna tattoo on your ring fingers before each race? I know – not permanent, but it is so pretty and then it would be there for the time you need it. Plus, you still get the tattoo thing going on (wild and interesting) but it wears off in a couple days – 1 week so that is won’t wear over time and be a forever smudge like others are cautioning about.

Wrist tattoos don’t fade as fast. I’m not getting a ring tattoo (personal preference, they’re just not for me), but I am getting FI’s last name (well, my future last name :p) tattooed on my side in an old German font that looks almost Elvish. It won’t be huge, just a delicate thing, but I’m excited for it! 🙂

I echo PP advice – I have a small tattoo on my foot that I got 7 years ago and it needed to be retouched years ago.
I also can’t read your post without thinking about a former coworker who had her husband’s name tattooed on her left ring finger and then got divorced. She used to wear a ring to cover it up and I’m sure that didn’t help her with post-divorce dating. I know no one wants to think they could get divorced, but I’d avoid this type of tattoo just to be safe.

My mom and step dad are runners and they have these for running days: http://qalo.com/collections/featured-rings?gclid=CjwKEAjwxoG5BRCC7ezlzNmR8HUSJAAre36jZF-BzOd5pSA9nbfChWqdT2IhOQ9zoHXJE3uHkNv4ChoCeFjw_wcB
I’m covered in tattoos and still wouldn’t do a wedding ring tattoo tbh. Everything the above posters have said is very common and true. My tattoo artist wont even do them. If you do decide to do it I recommend keeping it as simple as possible. The more details the more likely it will turn in to a blurry mess. Also consider that it will likely show even when your ring is on. My friends hates that the most about hers. You notice the giant “M” sticking out from behind her ring before you even see the ring. She got a band with his initial on the top of her finger. It not even a year old yet and it is blurring.
