I think if you want to upgrade to a 5 ct center stone, you should keep the setting simpler than your current upgrade. In my opinion, there’s too much going on in the ring and it doesn’t let the diamond truly shine. If you upgrade to a 5ct, I think it’s important to let the diamond be the highlight of the ring and not take away from it with overly crowded settings. I think you should go look up at high end jewelers such as cartier, graff, harry winston etc because they’re known to do so many large stones and you can see how simple their settings are to highlight the center stone instead of taking away from it. At the end of the day, there is some truth to the saying “less is more” and in my opinion, you should take that approach in your next upgrade since you already have a more is more ring. Something different and elegant to add to the mix. Hope this helps!
I agree with diamondbeez here, if you’re going 5ct, that stone has got to be the focus.
In my opinion there is too much going on in your current ring, that I struggle to even see the diamond. It’s a shame as it’s obviously a gorgeous (and huge) stong.
I went searching for a few large engagement rings and found a few – would you consider a simple setting to let that diamond shine? What about a fancy cut to really make a unique statement?
