Here’s my cake inspiration photo:

We don’t want to blow our budget on cake so we’re having a small “show” cake and sheet cakes in the back. I like this idea because as soon as we cut the cake, the wait staff can immediately start passing it out. No waiting!

@Mrs.DBee:  Beautiful cake! I am a pastry chef and I love seeing cakes with clean, smooth, elegant work. Great choice! I am sure your guests will love it.

We used cupcakes as part of our centerpieces, so we had this small cake for cutting and for the heirloom cake topper!

We did a small cake just for cutting surrounded by cupcakes.  We had a simple design with some ivory and pink cake pearls on it since those were our main colors.  The flower is also a cake topper and is made of clay.

We had a small marble cake iced with fondant with an eggplant ribbon that matched our wedding colors and orchids on the top of it (my sister-in-law did the orchids).  It was perfect!  Elegant, simply and classy!

Thank you!

Here are a few ideas: Adorable, clean and elegant. The last one would be simple. You could DIY and save money.

This is our inspiration photo, but ours will actually just be two tiers, and we are using a real peony instead of a sugar flower.  The cake will also be more of a fuchsia ombre.
