I saw my dress in the gallery section of WB and I literally gasped. It was completely not me and absolutely not what I invisioned myself getting married in. But I loved it. I think looked everywhere for it and finally I found a few people selling it used. Then one day out of the blue I randomly looked it up on ebay and someone was selling it for $500 plus shipping. It was too good of a deal. With a trip to the dry cleaners and retacking of one pick up, we will be in great shape.

I got engaged December 21, 2011 but, due to some health issues, hospital stays, and steroids, I had gained a considerable amount of weight and knew I wouldn’t be ready to try on wedding dresses until that summer. That didn’t stop me from looking though! I literally looked through 1,000’s of dresses online and kept coming back to one, Mori Lee 4908:
I looked up local shops that carried Mori Lee and there were about 10 in my area. I called all of them and the only one that had this dress was the bridal shop back in my hometown (WEIRD!).
After I had taken the bar exam at the end of July and lost enough weight that I was comfortable with trying it on, my mom, best friend and I went try on dresses. They only had it in a 4 so it wouldn’t zip over my chest but I knew it was the one! I tried on a few more dresses after that because I felt like maybe I was jumping the gun, but after 2 dresses my friend and mom asked me what the heck I was doing, it was obvious the mori lee was my dress!
It was ordered and came in only a few weeks later, here it is without alterations, it needs taken in a lot in this picture, and even more so now that I’ve lost even more weight. They are also going to take it in around my butt so it’s more accentuated (my sisters’ idea):
And the back is TO DIE FOR:

Saw it, went to David’s Bridals, tried it on, bought it. I have not tried on any other gown. I knew this was the look I wanted, I’m 53 years old. I wanted a classy, elegant dress, not to foo- foo. I really didn’t want a train either but once it was on, I smiled.❤

I thought I wanted another dress for years, and then when I was ready to go try on dresses I had a look through the designer’s new collection online and saw what was ACTUALLY the one. There is only one store in the area that carries Sophia Tolli, so they have a monopoly on prices, so I drive an hour away to a shop that’s out in the sticks but has AMAZING prices. Tried it on, fell in love all over again, and knew that was it. I tried several more on for good measure, but none of them gave the wow factor that the first one did. Went back to the original store, bought and paid for the dress, bing bang that’s it. It should be in next month!!!!
Sophia Tolli, Pacifica
The sample was a 10, I need a 0, so it will fit better when it comes in my size, lol.

I saw my dress on Pinterest when I first got engaged & pinned it to my wedding board. I realized that every time I logged in, I would go to that pin and drool a little so I found a shop in my area that just happened to have the dress in my size. I tried on 2 other styles first so I would have something to compare and while they were nice, they didn’t do that much for me. As soon as I slipped on my dress, I knew it was the one – she hadn’t even finished lacing the back up and I was already telling her this is the one…Maggie Sottero – Symphony

I saw this picture a few months into my engagement. I bought it without trying it on 6 months later and I’ve never regretted it.
