My bridesmaids have told me they’re sick of seeing and wearing chiffon bridesmaids dresses to all the weddings they’ve been bridesmaids to. I kinda agree as I think my wedding is pretty unconventional (at least where I live) and I’d like their dresses to match the vibe. It doesn’t help that I’m the last to marry in the age group…so what unconventional bridesmaid dresses have you seen, savvy bees?
Fyi my dress is a ballgown/full A-line, but I’d love to see any styles and pics you’ve got even if it doesn’t fit my wedding 😀
(I briefly considered a tea-length wedding dress and have my bridesmaids in full-length just to be different but my mom wouldn’t have none of it 🙁

chachamaru : I saw something about jumpsuits for the Bridesmaids earlier…
I’ve also seen Weddings where the BMs have been styled in vintage style dresses, which could look good?
It depends what your ‘theme’ is for the Wedding

My girls wore heavily beaded hi/low dresses in black. They loved the dress and it was flattering on all the different body types!

Possibly not classed as unconventional, but to me they certainly dont say “bridesmaid”. This is a pic of the dress off the website, always been too preoccupied to take pics of my girls wearing them 😣. For reference the colour is like a dove grey.

smudgie : that’s pretty! I want it for me. 🙂 Can you tell me who makes that and where you got it?

chachamaru : Here are some of my BMs dresses. They will all be in the taupe color, but will have different styles that they all felt comfortable with! I just loved how different the design was compared to most Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses!

slomotion : Absolutely love those dresses!!

I got tired of seeing the typical chiffon dresses as well. My wedding will have a slightly art deco/geometric type style, but I didn’t want to get cheesy with it…my dress has a crisscross type pattern to it, and when I found these I was over the moon! My bridesmaids seem to love them as well, they’re very flattering on. They’re technically mother of the bride dresses, but work perfectly for us! By Adriana Papell

I only had a Maid/Matron of Honor, but she wore this dress which is definitely sexier than the typical Bridesmaid or Best Man dress.

chachamaru : Do you have a particular theme or color scheme you’re going for?
I personally love the skirt and blouse combo.
Or you could even have them pick a different pattern in your wedding colors and wear that kinda like in this article:

A friend did ‘party skirts’ http://www.partyskirts.com/ The lady length ones and it looked great. They’re not too expensive and then the bridesmaids can style with their own white top. It looked great.

I too have a ballgown and I wanted something very glam for my girls so this is the dress we went with:

I originally wanted my girls to dress retro dresses similar to this…
But in the end I let them pick their dresses and they picked the chiffon ones. They said they were comfortable so I didn’t mind.
slomotion : Those dresses are beautiful!
