Off the top of my head

Dress – $1100

Accessories – not sure yet…havent gotten any!

Officiant – $150

Ceremony / +Reception w/ food $8000 ( still debating on alcohol so this may make it more expensive )  Future Mother-In-Law just called my Fiance though and said she wanted to help out with the bar tab as well so we can try to have an open bar. We were just going to do beer and wine but if shes offering then well do open! We have some heavy drinkers as friends so I was scared what the bar tab would be for my mom at the end of the night.

Flowers ( bouquets, centerpieces and other flowers throughtout reception ) – FREE – future Mother-In-Law is a florist ….big saver I heard flowers are one of the top expenses!

Favors – FREE- Future Mother-In-Law will be making cute little potted plants which will also serve as escort cards

Photographer – $1200…got an awesome deal.  My photographer is actually one of my BM’s cousins!

Dj – $400

Cake – not sure yet but we plan on using Publix because their cakes are cheap and delicious!

Invitations – $150

Good luck, staying within 10-15k is def. managable 🙂

I’m in southern california (I know prices are so different in different places) and we’re a little over that at about 16,500.

  • Wedding: August 2013

Ceremony= $485
Marriage License: $25
Venue: $150 (includes covered chairs, an aisle runner, hurricane glasses for candles, and an archway)
Decorations: $60 (flower petals, candles, and an oak tree for our tree-planting ceremony)
Officiant: $300 (also includes rehearsal dinner and several meetings, plus our tip)

Reception= $6,490
Venue:$790 (includes tables and chairs, tablecloths and napkins, a coffee and soda bar, cake-cutting and serving, and clean-up and set-up of the ceremony and reception)
Food: $3,000 (this is a rough estimate based on 150 people; it includes two types of salad, rolls, chicken, pasta with sausage, a choice of starch, and a choice of vegetable(s)
Alcohol:$ 1,700 (a rough estimate also based on 150 people, but we are having an open bar for beer and wine, a cash bar for liquor, and this amount also includes the bartender fee)
Taxes/Gratuity: $1000 (estimate)

Stationary= $510
We aren’t doing STD’s or programs, so this cost includes the invitations, RSVP cards, belly bands, the thank-you’s for both my bridal shower and the wedding, return address labels, and stamps for all.

Photography/Videography= $200
FI’s aunt and uncle are professional photographers and are doing our engagement session plus our entire wedding for free! His aunt does the pictures and his uncle tapes, and they do an amazing job! We appreciate the gesture more than they know, so this amount is for a nice thank-you gift!

Wedding Planner= $0 (Me!)

Transportation= $0
We purposely chose to have our ceremony and reception at the same location so we did not have to spend money on transportation!

DJ=$350
One of my dad and uncle’s best friends from high school is a professional DJ and said he would do it for half the price he usually charges (this fee includes his tip too). He has done lots of family events, so I know he does a good job and I think we will feel much more comfortable with him.

Cake= $300
Again, we got really lucky. FI’s cousin works at a bakery and is giving us a huge discount on a three-tiered cake for 150 people.

Flowers= $250
I am ordering bulk hydrangeas from Sam’s Club for mine and the ladies bouquets that I am DIY-ing and also for the centerpieces.  I am making my own boutonnieres and corsages as well using silk flowers and supplies from Michaels.

Attire= $1,710
Dress: $1,350 (my dress is a beautiful lace Allure. It was 1,100 and I’m estimating about 250 for alterations) This is the only thing from my entire wedding that I went over my budget.. boo!
Accessories: $105 (My veil is 30, my shoes were 25, and I’m expecting to pay about 50 for jewelry)
Hair, Make-Up & Nails: $200 (My Future Sister-In-Law is doing my make-up, and my hair will cost 150 which includes a trial run. Shellac nails will be about 50)
Groom’s Tux: $30 (groom’s tux was free, we just had to pay a fee to hold rentals for the groomsman)

Rings= $460
His: $105
Hers: $355

Extras: $550
Centerpieces: $50 for 20 tables (various sizes of mason jars, floating candles, tree slices, twine, and cardstock for table numbers)
Favors: $150 (making home-made trail mix with DIY thank-you tags)
Guestbook: $50 (making my own on Mixbook.com using our engagement photos)
Seating Chart:$30 (using an old window I found at an antique store and printing names on paper and burlap)
Gifts:$300 (this includes personalized pocket knives for the groomsman, lots of little goodies for the bridesmaids, and not sure what we are getting the parents yet)

TOTAL: $11,355

  • Wedding: December 2012

Dress: $1300

Tux: $160

Accessories (shoes, jewlery, ect.): $100

Beauty (nails, wax, hair, makeup): $450

Reception (catering & bar): $6000

Cake: $675

Transportation: $400

Hotel for the night: $200

DIY/Crafts/Decor Overall: $1000

License: $100

Flowers for Wedding Party: $250

DJ: $400

Day of Coordinator: $350

Rings (Not engagement): $400

I know there is some things I am missing but its in the range of $12,000 – $13,000 (not including honeymoon). Luckily we have 2 friends who are photographers so that saved us huge. And $1000 on crafts seems like a lot but I saved thousands making my own centerpieces, escort cards, decorations, ect. Now that I am in the last 2-3 weeks until my wedding I am making daily trips to Michaels and Joann Fabrics lol. I swear they know me by name.

  • Wedding: May 2013

We’re having a very small destination wedding in the south of France (I’m French and my partner is Irish, but both families have to travel at least 1000 km), and here’s our current breakdown:

– Venue (Domaine in the middle of a vineyard, doubles up as accommodation for our entire weddign party for the whole week): €3850

– Officiant: €350

– Flowers and decorations for reception and ceremony: €1000

– Reception (includes cocktail hour), plus snack for later in the night: €1100

– Photographer (includes full day coverage and engagement session): €1200

– Gifts for everyone of our guests: €500

– Outifts for us both: €600

– Music (FSIL’s partner is a DJ – their gift to us, and we’re hiring music students for the ceremony): €300

There will be other costs that I’m not accounting for, but so far, that’s €8900. Our rings are already purchased, and they cost us €1500 for both. We’re paying for everyhting ourselves, so I’m not sure yet if we can afford a honeymoon straight after the wedding but if not, we’ll take a trip later in the year.

Hope that helps, and let us know how you get on! Good luck!!

My orginal budget was 10k but I think we are up to 12.  I really don’t want to know how much it really is so I haven’t been keeping good track, I mean, we can afford it without stressing about it at all, so it must be fine then, right? =)

Anyways:

Attire: $400 (my dress, shoes, jewerly and his tux)

Venue/Food: (They are together) $7,500

Booze: $1,000 (we bought way too much I think)

Gifts: $400

Favors: Unknown, still not sure what we are doing I’m hoping for about $200

Flowers: $45 (DIY paper flowers)

Invites/STDs: $250

Ceremony Programs/Rehearsal Dinner Invites: $150 (I’m guessing, they are currently at the printer)

Rings: Not included (I figured they are forever not a day) they were about $5,000

Honeymoon: Also not included since we take a pretty massive vacation anyway, AND it’s not happening for like 5 months after the wedding

I’m 100% sure I’m forgetting things, but thats $9,945 without rings and $14,945 with them.

 Additions:

Hair: $free it was a gift from a friend

Makeup: $65 I figured pictures do last forever.

“Cake”: $350

Decor (including centerpieces): $500

DJ: $650

Jazz band/ceremony band: $650

Photographer: $650

New total with additions: $12,810
