Right after we moved in. It looks a bit different in there now, but the bed is the same 🙂 I really want to get a new set in the nearish future.

I love our bedding and our bed! The headboard and footboard have a cheveron pattern on it even though you can’t really see it in the picture

@Wellington Bride:  Thanks! It is – I definitely plan on using that colour again when we move! Best bedroom colour ever!

We have a solid Oak Sleigh Bed.  And a Simmons Beautyrest Boxspring & Mattress.  On top of which I have placed a Pacific Coast Canadian Goose Down Featherbed.  We have good quality sheets with a high thread count (500, 600, 700 etc) some of my faves are made by Gluckstein Home – Nautica – Ralph Lauren – Laura Ashley – and various Hotel Brands.  I’ve also had good results with BB&Bs store brand Damask Sheets (the ones with the solid coloured stripes).

Our pillows are a mix of 3 types… Down (soft) – Feather (medium) – and Synthetic (firm).  We tend to use the S&M ones for the sleeping, and the Firm ones for sitting up in bed watching Tv, reading the Papers, eating etc.

Our Duvet is a Medium Weight Baffle Pacific Coast Canadian Goose Down.  And the Duvet Covers (of which I have an assortment) were bought primarily to match our Sheet Sets.

In the Summertime, we take the Duvet off the bed and put on a lightweight Cotton Blanket.

In the Wintertime (particularly January) if the weather is particularly frigid outside (-20 or worse) we tend to up the coziness of our bedroom, by putting back on the Cotton Blanket under the Duvet… an added layer of insulation / warmth.

I don’t have any pics of our Bedroom… but this one off the Benjamin Moore Website, that shows designs for Gluckstein Home is very much our style…

PS… I should add I LOVE a Great Bed… and a good night’s sleep.  Hence why I don’t mind paying a bit more for my Bedding & Linens.  And if you take care of them properly they can last a really really long time.

@Ninteenthchance:  How did you make that beautiful headboard?!?!? I’ve seen so many tutorials online, but they all seem impossible & they’re not nearly as beautiful as yours! You should totally post a headboard tutorial! I caved and bought one like this because I am not talented enough to make it myself 🙂

@Dareebs:  I read a few tutorials and then winged it!!!! Really easy, literally, a piece of plywood, a jig saw, some thick batting, fabric and a staple gun!

I wanted a really beautiful one from pottery barn..but it was wayyyyyy too expensive..this cost me $100.

I love my bedding. My FH calls it the fortress bc of all the extra pillows. He just doesn’t understand. Lol.

@Ninteenthchance:  Wow well you worked your magic with that jigsaw! I loved that shape so I ended up buying ours. It was on sale for $220 so I was happy with that 🙂 PB headboards are WAY out of my price range, too!
