We have a guest list of about 40 people. We have 5 dozen cupcakes, 5 dozen cake balls, and a 6in cake top thingy (to cut) with fresh flowers for $215. This included all the stands needed, the delivery, and the set up.

It took a lot of hunting, but for $390 we’re having a four tier cake with basic flavors (white, coconut, strawberry) and buttercream icing that serves ~140, along with a decorated 1/4 sheet cake groom’s cake (red velvet w/ cream cheese).

It’s going to depend on where you live, I’m spending $350 for the main cake (3 tiers) and $150 for an awesome groom’s cake to feed a total of 115 people.

Plus, I got a 10% discount for referring 2 other brides to my baker! πŸ™‚

$560 for a 4-tiered cake, fondent designs, premium flavour for the cake and icing, included delivery, set-up and cake stand. Served 120.

Was DELICIOUS.  Worth the money? Nope….:)

@inky_1:  No…that would be a crazy deliver fee, we’re north of Baltimore in PA πŸ™‚  Our first few quotes for our cake were in the $650-$900 range.  In my experience, if I met them at a bridal show, their prices were nuts.  I actually found our cake lady through our local forum on theKnot.

Mine is going to end up being $300 or so.  It’s supposed to feed 56, but with the top layer being kept for the first anniversary, the bottom two layers should feed my 35-40 guests.  That includes the cake and the tier supports.  It does not include delivery (FI will be picking it up and I’ll set it up), the ribbon to go around it, and the flowers to go between the tiers.

Here’s mine, no idea how much it feeds but we have 40 guests. We have a big buffet with lots of other desserts too. I have a starfish theme since mine is a Destination Wedding on the beach ($190):

Six white tiers frosted differently, two different flavor combinations, plus grooms cake and delivery… came to $5.85/person.
