not 100% sure as of yet but,

music walk down aisle, message, lighting the candle, taking commuion, a nice song, exchanged rings, a super sweet kiss, a walk down the aisle out the back door where we wait and say thanks to everyone who came… Thats what i dream of

I’m Catholic so the wedding ceremony is already planned for all couples since it’s the same rite of marriage for everyone. But I really like the structure! Here’s how it (more or less) goes:

Walk down the aisle

Welcome/opening prayers

Everyone sits

Readings: There are 4, one from the Old Testament, a Psalm, one from the New Testament, and a Gospel.

Then the Homily.

Then its the rite of marriage which involves statement of intentions where you grant your consent, exchange of vows, and then a ring exchange. And maybe a kiss.

Next its the prayers of the faithful – general prayers for not just the couple but the congregation/church/world. My husband and I read them and it was our ‘first act as a married couple.’

Then would be Eucharist/communion if you are having it.

A closing prayer and out the door!

I like that the end of the ceremony isn’t the kiss…its the prayers or the faithful or communion. It reminds you the wedding isn’t about you but about the body of Christ.

Our ceremony order went as follows:

Seating of Grandparents

Seating of Parents

Moms brought up our jars of sand (for sand ceremony)

Groomsmen entered, Bridal party procession (Bridesmaids entered from back, groomsmen met them half way down aisle and walked them in) – Ring Bearer & Flower girl followed

Video (our childhood, dating, proposal, engagement pictures)

Bell Ringers (kiddos that I love that walked in ringing bells and saying “The Bride is Coming”)

Daddy walked me in

Declaration of intent followed by who gives this woman to be married

Unity sand

Hugging parents with roses

I now pronounce you… followed by first kiss

THE END! : )

Here is how our ceremony went. It was a traditional Christian ceremony:

Attendants Processional

Bride’s Processional

Scripture Reading

Exchange of Vows

Giving of Rings

Unity Candle / Communion (While music played)

Presentation of Husband and Wife

It was about 20-25 minutes long. I hope this helps!
