I had my first wedding nightmare last night and I woke up so happy it wasn’t real.
I dreamt that barely anyone showed up for the wedding, I forgot to get my hair and makeup done, and I forgot to order the cake.
So I left the church at 6:15 (the ceremony starts at 6:30) and drove to a grocery store and bought a cake. My bridesmaid started crying in the middle of the grocery store and then for some reason the police showed up and wanted to arrest me! When I finally made it back to the church, it was 7:30 and I walked down the aisle in sweatpants and no makeup. Then my bridesmaid started crying again and pulled out a giant plastic bag that had the cake in it. All of the decor at the reception was red (my colors and yellow and gray) and the centerpieces were red stilletos that had candles in them.

BakerBee16: That’s a pretty terrible dream!!
I’ve shared this one once before several months ago, but it’s still the craziest and most vivid. I dreamt my Fiance got to pick out my dress and I didn’t get to see it until the day of wedding. It was horrifically huge and puffy, like an 80s wedding dress with hot pink velvet trim all over it. I was so upset and took so much time trying to fix the dress and cut the trim off that I didn’t have time to do my hair and make up. I remember in the dream it was like 30 or 40 minutes after the ceremony should have started and I just was like I guess I paid for this professional hair and make up for nothing and went to walk down the aisle in a torn up dress, hair in a ponytail and no makeup. I woke up in a sweat and was so anxious haha!
I’ve had other ones too that mostly revolve around my dress being wrong or me not being ready in time. I had another particularly bad one where my Maid/Matron of Honor decided to have her wedding on the same day. No matter how many times I explained to her in the dream why I was hurt she didn’t understand.

That the reception got pushed for time and by then end, we’d only just done our first dances before it was time to shut down for the night. This seriously worries me. There’s an hour for cocktails & 4 hours for dinner & dancing. Then we afterparty.

kimmo416: It’s so strange how our dreams work! It’s kind of funny that our subconscious is worrying about these things.
nadnuk: Oh no! That would be so awful to run out of time!!

BakerBee16: Seriously, it keeps me up at night. But I’ve gone through the timeline, and it’s enough time. My dad was just adamant to not go over 5 hours altogether because he’s been stuck at wedding receptions that go on forever and he feels trapped. This way, we have our reception, people can go home, or they can continue on at the various afterparties! I just have to keep telling myself that there’s enough time.

I had a nightmare that my Fiance forgot we were getting married. He’s someone who gets lost in his own thoughts easily and is terrible at being on time. In my dream, he wandered out into the field at our venue and just completely lost track of what was going on that day. We had to send people out to find him, and I was crying because he forgot our wedding.<br />
Of course in real life he would never forget our wedding, but I’m still making sure his sister keeps track of him so he’s on time!

nadnuk: There’s just something about worrying about time that really seems to get to people. 5 hours seems like plenty of time! Our reception probably won’t start until 7:30 or 8p.m., so 5 hours puts us at around 1 am.
It reminds me of dreams I have had where I am in a store with an unlimited amount of money…but the store is closing in 5 minutes and I don’t have enough time to shop for what I want. LOL
TGold: Losing your Fiance would be awful haha!

Perfect timing for this- I’ve had two this week alone! They usually revolve around the reception not being ready/set up or that it’s SURPRISE WEDDING DAY and I have nothing finished/ no invites sent out/ no vendors confirmed.
Last night’s dream was that our wedding planner told us it was our wedding day and we had to hurry up and rush around to get ready, the whole time thinking, “we thought we had a few more months, what happened to the time?!”. Then we arrived to the reception and nothing was what we had picked and we didn’t know any of the guests. We realized our wedding planner had made a mistake and we had taken over somebody else’s wedding. And we had to go through with it anyway!
Ugh, these dreams are the worst. I thought they’d get better or go away once I had more things checked off of my to-do list, but they’ve actually just gotten way more realistic since the actual real details of my wedding pop up! Makes it much harder to shake off as just a dream!
