I’m having a hard time brainstorming thoughtful and meaningful gift ideas to give/make my husband during our first married Christmas. Pinterest has some okay ones…mostly they are a little…blah.
What did you and your spouse gift each other for your first married Christmas? Bonus points for things that are more meaningful and not super expensive…as well as for DIY things that are foolproof for people who are artistically challenged such as yours truly!

Can you re-create your first date? It could start an amazing tradition to repeat every year.
Are you a picture taker? You could create a “year in review” album for him.

I once created a mini booklet – basically got a bunch of colourful craft papers, some lace, glitter, glue, ribbons etc. Then I printed some landmark pictures – our first picture together, glamour shots, pictures of fun trips etc. I pasted these pics, one on each page inside a lace ‘window’ and a net ‘curtain’ over them, so you needed to lift the curtain to see the photo. Below each photo I wrote a few lines of romantic poetry (you can use quotes as well). Sprinkled glitter all over it, put ribbons in the corner, put the booklet inside an envelope and sealed with a kiss. It cost next to nothing and took me around 2 days to finish it.
If you want to make it simple, you can cook his favourite Christmas lunch or knit him a jumper.
