@aquamarine2019:  Will you have a 2nd ceremony and/or celebration with family and friends on a future date after your elopement? Or it’s strictly an elopement and nothing anymore afterwards?

ETA: I read your post again and never mind, I missed a portion of it. I think I understood that you did not want anything involving planning and family so elopement only it is.

Me me me!!! Although I don’t have a full plan yet because of COVID but we plan on eloping on a beach πŸ™‚ my Aunty will be our officiant (she’s more like my mom❀️) we will only have My Aunty, her husband who will walk me down my sandy isle. And my fiancé’s Mom/Dad Sisters and brother. Hopefully my brother can come as it’ll be a bit far from them. But I’m excited! Luckily I live in Hawaii, but unluckily my aunty and uncle live on a different island so until covid is over and travel restrictions are lifted we can’t really do anything. Nor would I want to put my Aunt and uncle at risk.

Have a happy elopement bee it sounds like an amazing plan 😊

@sharkey38:  good luck bee! We’re slowly reopening but I know our mandatory self quarantine for travelers will be the last thing we reopen. My aunt and uncle are from Kauai and me and my soon to be husband live on another. I’m crossing my fingers just as much as you 🀞🏽☺️

  • Wedding: October 2021 - Portland, Oregon

I had my heart set on an October elopement/intimate wedding with less than 10 people including the photographer in Portland, OR, where FH is from. But we are on the fence because both sets of parents are high risk and I can’t make them travel, but it would be the world to me to have them there. So not sure. We were eloping at a small church, taking pictures with everyone and heading to dinner since it will be such a small group.

We’ve planned for 10-21-21 at Emerald Bay Resort in Great Exuma Bahamas. We chose the European Wedding Garden for our ceremony

@sunshinesunflower1021:  Is it just the 2 of you or you’re doing it with very few guests? If yes, how many? (People just have different criterias for  “elopement” I guess)

@socalgirl1689:  It will be just the 2 of us for the ceremony. We’re having a cocktail reception for 20 or so when we return.

@sunshinesunflower1021:  Sounds like a good plan because it’s the best of both worlds. You get an intimate just the 2 of you ceremony then a small celebration afterwards with others.

  • Wedding: June 2020 - Scotland

I have to be the only bride on planet earth whose wedding has grown LARGER because of covid….  Our ORIGINAL plan was to elope to Scotland in June.  I’ve never wanted anything to do with a traditional wedding, all I wanted was just the two of us.  Now, because we can’t travel, we have adapted our plans to get married here, rather than waiting a whole year to get married (Scotland has been rescheduled as a 1st anniversary trip).  Because we will now be getting married at home, our families are seeing this as an opportunity to jump in and invite themselves, complete with a zoom meeting of extended family.  I just can’t.

Please don’t get me wrong, I love our families, I just didn’t want our wedding to be a whole big deal and event.  I have a lot of anxiety personally about getting emotional in front of large groups of people.  My mother and I have a strained relationship and she is always very critical of my choices.  I never wanted to deal with her drama factory, especially on my wedding day.

Reading about everyone’s elopement plans has me absolutely stoked for you bees, Congratulations on your (small) big days!
