I try to keep my engagement photos as affordable as possible so my clients can get comfortable with me before the wedding. I don’t want them having to go to another photographer to get it cheaper or have a friend take them, but at the same time that makes it easy to get overbooked with engagement sessions and finding available weekends becomes a problem. I also include the e-session or half off the price of the e-session in some of my mid to high-range packages.

We are getting ours done next weekend (weather permitting) – we hired a photojournalism student (we live in a college town and she just happened to be shooting at the local reservoir where my Fiance was climbing a few weekends ago.  We’re paying her $100 for 2 hours.

Ours are going to be $80 for an hour – that’s it!  It seems like prices are much lower in my area than the norm and that’s good for us!  The photographer we’re using for our e-pics is new to the scene but I’ve known her for a long time and she’s a nautral at it.  She hasn’t been photographing people long which is another reason why her prices are so low but oh my goodness, she’s got the talent for sure.  I’m VERY picky with these things but she’s great.

The $80 will include a print CD with a copywright release so we can get them printed from wherever we want.

EDIT:  We are having a Destination Wedding so our photographers for our epics and our wedding pics will not be the same people.
