We got brides bouquet, our venue lost my throwaway but had a backup, 1 Maid/Matron of Honor, 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquest, 5 coursages, 7 bouts, 10 tall centerpeices & flowers for the cake. Our total was approx. $1700. Our venue took care of the ceremony flowers and cocktail our votives. Our florist was on long island and did an incredible job.

Ummmm…I spent under $1,000 for 10 centerpieces, my bouquet, 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, 5 boutonnières, 2 corsages, all with roses, seeded eucalyptus, etc. (think I have some images in my profile? If not will post.)
I found a florist in Bushwick, Bklyn and wrote down th style of what I liked, as well as detailed instructions about the ways I wanted it tweaked w/ photos for reference of the only two acceptable color varietals I wanted (the owner doesn’t speak much English, Spanish mostly), and I was blown away with her work. $5k MINIMUM some pol want!?? Ha. You’re gonna have to shake me a little harder to get $ like that for something that’s gonna die in a few days!!!

The prices are certainly high, 7k is just as much as im paying for photography and videography (something that will last a life time) versus the ones which will die in a few days but set the tone so well…sigh…. priorities.
I have been looking at some great florists in the New Rochelle and Westchester area, but Im terrified of the quotes they might give me. Arcadia Floral is my fave. This is the look im hoping for

@luckyducky0101: I live in Brooklyn, NY–We paid $2900 for our flowers. We had 17 centerpieces, 2 baksets for the church, 4 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, 3 corsages, 8 boutineres, a dais arrangement for our sweetheart table, and my bouquet which was cascading. Are you only looking for a florist in Manhattan? Bc if so, they are going to be very $$$$$$
Below is a pic of my centerpiece, our sweetheart table, Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquet and my bouquet

Same experience! Most wedding vendors pretty much laughed when I told them I wanted to spend less than $2000 on flowers.
So I have no idea how the actual quality of our flowers will end up since we haven’t had our event yet, but I found that I had much better luck finding vendors in my price point when I didn’t go with wedding-specific florists. I’m using a florist I’ve used in the city before for flower deliveries who doesn’t specialize in weddings and whose arrangements have always been high quality. I’m getting a bouquet of high-priced flower types, 8 flowers pins and boutonnieres, and 6 centerpieces for $669. I’m adding an arch draped in tulle (which, by the way, are expensive!! how is it this expensive??) so all in including the arch plus sales tax and delivery fee, I will be paying $1273. I found also that with wedding-specific florists, they were asking for minimums that I couldn’t meet since I’m having a simple, smaller wedding. So even if I wanted to pick ‘more affordable’ flowers, I couldn’t as I wouldn’t meet their minimums for the weekend.
I tested pricing by sending the same picture and asking for the exact same flowers of different vendors, and I got pricing back that ranged from ~$65 or 70 dollars a centerpiece (non-wedding vendors) to $130 or $150 per centerpiece from others. YMMV

I am spending $975 on flowers. I used a local flower shop called Rose Garden in Brooklyn (Park Slope). I got 7 centerpieces, 4 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, 1 bridal bouquet, and rose petals. I say go to a local florist and have them do sample pieces…no need to go to a wedding specialist who is most likely charging you an arm and a leg for it.
