I’m knitting gifts for Christmas (this will be the second Christmas I’ve given knitted items along with my regular gifts) and I swear, if I even look at my needles tonight my right shoulder is going to pop itself out of its socket just to stop me.
I’ve knitted the Althea Gail cape for FI’s grandmother
the Fleeced Earflap hat for my dad
the Highland Cape for my mom
and I still have to frog and restart the cardigan I’m knitting for Fiance… and it’s only a week until Christmas! AAAAH.
Anyone else out there want to share their wonderful hand-made gifts? 🙂

Those look awesome! I was planning on sewing 5 quilts for Christmas, but had some major flareups, and was unable to get a single one done 🙁
So I am going to work on them for next year, and instead decided to make everyone jars of apple butter, apple pie moonshine, and some maple cinnamon roasted pecans. I might do peanut brittle too but I’m unsure if I’ll get around to that.

Holy crap, you guys are so talented! Those are amazing.
I made a small gift for some of my girlfriends. You know these hair ties that are starting to be everywhere? I found a tutorial on how to make them (here). One evening of sitting in front of the TV later, I’d cranked out a bunch and arranged them into little sets of 3:

Those are so cute! I’ve actually been looking for the gold sparkle elastic, would you mind sharing where you bought it?!

I’m not at all up with the latest trends. Are these just used like a typical hair elastic/ponytail holder? If not, can you share a pic or link to a pic with someone wearing one?

They’re not supposed to leave the bump in your hair after letting your hair down (unlike regular ties). I wear them daily… a friend of mine made me a few for my birthday and my mom bought me some. I love the ones my friend made because they don’t fray unlike the store bought ones.

Thanks! I got the elastic here: http://www.sunshineshoppesupply.com/Stretch_Elastic_and_Trim_s/1832.htm
I used the 5/8th inch.
Yeah, you can use one like a regular hair tie. If you have really thick hair (like me), then you might want to use a normal hair tie, and then put one of these over it. Plus they look cuter on your wrist than a normal hair tie.
