I don’t have all of it yet.  But I bought this adorable blue cordoroy dress with white polka dots, along with some white tights. My mom is knitting a white sweater for her since it will be winter 🙂

The dress looks black here but it’s navy 🙂

The dress was big on her but I still loved dressing her up 🙂

My LO came home in a Zutano onesie (I LOVE their stuff). We knew she’d be small, and Zutano was one of the only places I could find that made such sweet preemie size stuff.

I only got one, not-so-great picture of her in it though. After being in the hospital for 6 days, we rushed out of there SO fast when I finally got discharged.. lol

i heard that seperates were better than onesies for the umbilical stump, but there seems to be a lot of conflicting info. anyone heard either way?

@newname_99:  in my experience onesies were better, the pants and shirts always got caught on the cord, I was gentle so there was no damage but it did worry me from time time

The lighting is really off, but this is a pretty soft coral and gray combo. I’m not sure if we will leave this on her for the ride home (may end up putting her in a more comfortable and soft sleeper), but this is the outfit we’ll def be putting her in for her hospital pictures. She’ll wear the white tights with it and I ordered a headband to match off of Etsy, but with a slightly thicker gray band, than the thin white one that is showing in the pic.

The headband coral color is actually what the coral on the dress/cardigan look like in person. Everything is from Carter’s,  except the headband.  Can’t wait to see her in it! 🙂

I have like four different outfits in my hospital bag, haha. I figure I’ll decide in the moment!!

@newname_99:  My sister told me unequivocally to just bring footed sleepers. She said newborns are so tiny and I’ll be so afraid of breaking her that I should just bring the easiest possible outfits! She even recommended ZIPPER sleepers over buttoned because seriously we will be so afraid of breaking our tiny little newborn baby, haha.

I think the hat is the most important part of the outfit, since they’ve always got blankets over them when they’re newborn anyhow. I’m bringing a bumblebee hat 😀

I am posting mine to show some love for the boys around here (OP- I dont know if you are having a boy/girl/dont know). I was keeping my eyes open my entire pregnancy for a going home outfit and finally found this one around 31 weeks 🙂

@julia924:  I barely remember what I brought my son home in the hospital in.  I think I remember- a onsie with a lion on it that my cousin gave me.  But my son was in the hospital for almost a month before he got to come home, and I had delayed PPH after he was born— so honeslty, the last thing on my mind was what he came home in.  I was just sooooo excited he was coming home!!!

I would pick something cozy and comfy for baby- season appropriate.  For my next baby, we will be doing cute, soft organic PJs most of the time- babies have sensitive skin, and while all those little outfits are cute, they’re so tired from being born- just make sure baby is comfy!!  They’re so dang cute no matter what they’re in that they’re comfort is all that matters.

I guess you can’t even see the outfit here… but it was a button-up footed onesie.  We didn’t know if we were having a boy or girl so it’s gender neutral.  I think we took like 3 or 4 different outfits because we had no idea how big the baby was either, what the weather would be like, etc.

I originally wanted to get one of those newborn gowns for her to come home in.  However, it doesn’t really work so well with the carseat restraints so I am trying to decide on a different outfit for coming home in the car.  I may still buy the gown style for newborn photos though.  Here’s a pic of the gown https://www.etsy.com/listing/109478263/white-infant-baby-layette-cotton-baby?ref=favs_view_4
