I’m looking for quirky or special wedding invite wording. I’m not really into the traditional format and I am not concerned about “etiquette” or any of that who paid for what nonsense. Did anyone include a mini-verse, poem etc? Pretty much anything out of the norm. If so, please share!!

Ours were definitely not traditional. I got mine from Pinterest. They said:
Dave & Lindsey
would be honored if you’d be at
at 3:30 pm on Saturday, July 28th
to celebrate what they will refer to from now on as their BIG DAY.
Here’s a picture:

@iheartsquishy: That’s adorable!!! So cute.
Just curious, was your wedding formal? Did you have to clarify this to guests who weren’t sure? I’m trying to covey a formal event while still making it sound like “us”. Not black tie or anything, I just don’t want people to think it’s a pic nic.

I’m in the same boat….my Fiance and I have been together 9 years and lived together 6 and owned a house for 4……we’re so not “starting a life together’….so finding perfect wording is hard….AND I don’t want it to sound TOO informal since it IS at a golf club…mind you, saying that it’s at “The b— Golf and Country Club” should clue people in, right?

It started with this:
“This day I will marry my best friend; the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love.”
Then the rest of the blah-blah-blahs…

@iheartsquishy: I love the wording you used! I wish we could go that route because it fits our off-beat personalities, but our families are very conservative and anything too out-there would confuse them. We’re going with something like:
Together with their families,
R and A
Joyfully invite you to celebrate with them as they exchange wedding vows at
Dinner, Drinks, and Merriment to Follow

Those are cute ideas! Yea, it sucks when you have to do something because of your family. Our families are also very conservative, but luckily they are laid back and don’t impose most of their fluff on to the wedding.

@RockStar33: love that! So awesome. Did your fam. oppose to the wording at all?
Keep them coming ladies!

@RockStar33: Thats great, I love those!!
My FI’s family would have flipped at that, though.
Not traditional, not too casual either:
Together with their families
Kaitlin Marie Who
John Robert Blank
Joyously invite you to celebrate
their wedding day
Dinner and Dancing immediately following

@LuluInLove: Our wedding is far from formal. And we’ve told everyone that. We’re only having about 20 people, so it was easy to spread the word. And nobody cared about the lack of traditional wording. We just had a bbq today and kind of gave a quick rundown of the plan.

@LuluInLove: Nope because they know it’s who we are. They were probably more shocked that there wasn’t actually a swear word on it lol.
