I have 24hrs of bad pain, bad. In fact (shhhhh do not tell!!) whenever I get dental work done, and they prescribe pills for pain I never take them, ever. I keep them and I take one a month. That’s how bad they get.

@LaPetiote: I used to get a lot of migraines and they mostly went away when I overhauled my diet until I started the nuvaring. I get killer migraines immediately before and during lady times on the nuvaring too. I hate hormonal bc 🙁
@kmarie719: my first day is the worst too. And I always see it coming, there’s like two days if moderate warning pain and then BAM an entire day of pain. Like, the kind that make me lay in bed and scream and cry and writhe. It gets worse the older I get (when I was younger I had quick and pain free periods) it’s not as bad when I’m on bc but it’s still a little brutal. My hot water bottle and I are besties 2-4 days a month. It’s the only time I ever wish I was a man!

@kmarie719: Mine started a few days ago, and oh holy hell, it sucks! The cramps that make me feel like an alien is clawing its way out is a pretty accurate description! Nausea, headaches, fatigue, etc.
*TMI alert* I actually had to run to the bathroom because my erm, cork, was ejecting from the flow. I hate being female sometimes. It’s days like this that prevent me from being able to leave the house comfortably.

You guys are going to hate me, but I’ve never had problems. No pain, no cramps, just a light flow for about 5 days. Also, since having my implanon/nexaplon fitted, I no longer have periods at all.

My first two days are always the worst. I’m just ending day 2 right now and I’m still dying. The past 6 months I’ve been noticing my periods just getting worse. I’ve always suffered from horrible cramps, heavy flow, and headaches (while not on birth control), but recently I’ve been having unbearable fatigue (to the point of not being able to even lay my head down or I’ll pass out), mood swings, and pain so bad that I’m actually nauseated by how much it hurts.
I was going to say “Glad to see I’m not alone here!”, but that doesn’t sound right in this situation haha. “Oh, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one wanting to kill myself due to excruciating periods.” So I guess I’ll say that my sympathies go out of everyone here as I know exactly how you’re all feeling! 😉
My relief tactics include taking hot baths, using a heating pad, ibuprofen, and the occasional Midol when I’m at work (the caffeine is extra helpful since my fatigue has been so out of control).
I wish birth control wasn’t the only thing to help ease the symptoms (when I was on birth control, my periods were much shorter, lighter, and I barely had any bad symptoms). We’re not actively trying to have a baby, but we’re now to the stage of “If it happens, it happens”, so birth control halfway seems like a waste… :/
