meke:  Congrats!! Can you believe it’s already here??!!

Mine is next Saturday, and I’m oddly calm. I can’t believe how calm I am – it’s like the only thing stressing me is the fact that I’m not stressed!  I’m an obsessive planner/list maker and very organized, so I feel like everything is in order and we just have to actually do it – but it’s making me feel like maybe I’m forgetting something?

How are you May 17th date twins feeling?

Only things left are:  1) submit final numbers (which I have but waiting until they’re due (Friday) in case anything changes, have already had some last minute switches, 2) rehearsal, 3) pay the venue (final payment due the day before), 4) pick up dress and get married!

MsYankee:  I can’t believe it is already here!  I have been calm and not stressed as well either, well at least about the wedding (just moved into our new home and our garage door broke yesterday, ugh!).  My bridesmaids noticed that this weekend about how calm I am.  I just really don’t have much to do other than just get pampered, do a few small things when we get to Charleston, and wait for the big day to get here!

I would say I have not been stressed about the weather, just obsessed and anxious! That’s the only thing I could see me getting stressed about if things change since that means we have to rent expensive tents.

Future Mother-In-Law sent a nice message today, with her excitement.  That I can handle, haha!

I have been thinking for the last month or so that we have things pretty well under control, but it’s starting to dawn on me how many loose ends are still out flapping in the wind.

Thank goodness we have 2.5 weeks still, but eeeeep.

So exciting for you ladies getting married in only FOUR days!

My mom and I sat down yesterday and wrote our final to do list. We are definitely going to be doing things at the last minute but it will all work out. 11 days to go!

My Fiance and I applied for our marriage license yesterday and can pick it up on Thursday after the NJ 72 hour waiting period. That was very exciting! I also just finished my favors this morning.

I also finally saw my dress with a V back instead of straight across! I love it.

 futuremrsslp:  Beautiful!!!

I just wrote out my final to-do lists at lunch at work haha.  I broke it down into which days to complete – much less stressful that way because I tend to try to work on everything at once, which gets overwhelming. So I broke it down into what I will do tonight, tomorrow night, etc.  Makes me realize that even though we’re 10 days away, I still have a good 7 days or so that I can use to get things done!

At my last fitting on 4/24, my dress just fit – as in it almost wouldn’t fit if I was to gain another 2 lbs.  I had been pretty bloated and had gained some weight from stress eating – proud to say since then I’m down about 6 lbs!  I know it’s water weight but I’m super happy! My dress will fit so much better and I won’t be self-conscious!

MsYankee:  Thank you!! Ah 6 lbs is great!! I’m hoping to lose a few pounds of water weight right before the wedding so that my dress fits a little better as well.

Today I picked up our marriage license, printed our ceremony programs, and wrote up an information packet for our photographer. I love checking things off my list! I’m going to make a more detailed “what to do when” list tonight. That sounds like a great idea MsYankee!

MsYankee:  6 lbs is 6 lbs, regardless!  Great work and you are going to be stunning.

I really wasn’t planning on doing this until next week, but last night Fiance and I sat down and started drafting up tables.  I’m happy to report that we finished up that task in 30 minutes!  What a relief.

MsYankee: Honestly, totally freaking out. Not about the marriage – I’m excited to be married!! Just about some drama. Rehearsal dinner invite drama, one of my FI’s groomsmen has dropped off the face of the planet, we totally forgot to do an Ipod playlist until last night. But it’s all getting done. Thankfully I have a supportive FI!

MsYankee:  futuremrsslp:  Happy wedding week!  You will both make for gorgeous brides.

I feel like I have lots of things done but that darn to-do list keeps growing.  I dropped off everything at the florist yesterday – it was cheaper to buy the pieces that will be holding the flowers than for our florist to do it.  I have final numbers/menu selections confirmed with the venue (YAY!!), placecard file is completed and ready to go to the printer, all DIY/crafting is done, and all payments we need to get out to vendors prior to the wedding have been mailed!  This week I am wrapping the bridal party gifts, putting together the 65 pairs of flip flops, purchasing the remaining gifts for our Rehearsal Dinner attendees (non-bridal party), and confirming headcount/menu with our Rehearsal Dinner venue and hotel for the Sunday Brunch.  Getting there!!

futuremrsslp:  Aw, sorry you’re having to deal with some drama.  It will all be ok!

futureMRSjrs:  Thank you!  You got a lot done!! Don’t you love checking those things off your to-do list?

My Fiance has to work late tonight because we had some major flooding and his job is one where they are called when things like that happen, so I’m taking advantage of the opportunity and going to see a movie by myself after work! I get out at 4:30 so I’m going to a matinee, I’m either going to see Heaven is For Real or The Other Woman – I want to see Heaven is  For Real but I think The Other Woman is light chick flick fluff that’s perfect for just losing myself in (which I love doing when I go to the movies)- have any of you seen either one?

Latest “could be crises but turned out fine”:

So my FI’s tie that came with his tux came in the wrong color, he called me in a panic and I told him it was up to him – he could switch it out for the blue one we ordered or just take the platinum one they gave him that matches the vest – he settled on the platinum one.  I was laughing, he was worried if this was a huge deal or something (to some it is, but to me, I don’t care what he was wearing as far as color, style, etc.)

My 11 year old goddaughter and junior bridesmaid got a haircut and they cut bangs, she hated them and instead of telling her mom she went into the bathroom and chopped them off – so she has a 1″ or so tuft of hair at her hairline that sticks STRAIGHT up.  Her mom (MOH) called me in a panic and I just laughed, told her we’ll figure out a headband or something that can at least smush it down a little and have a good story to tell when she’s grown up.

I checked us in online for our honeymoon and noticed that our flight was booked for us to leave NYC back home on Wednesday June 4th.  Problem is – our cruise comes back Thursday, June 5th into NYC.  That almost became a freak-out moment, but I called Fiance, then changed our flights online and we had to pay a $75 change fee each but in the grand scheme of things (and cost of this wedding) it really wasn’t so bad.  Much better than finding that we missed our flight and have to book a new one or something when we get back on Thursday.  I don’t know how this happened, I honestly think the online itinerary might have said we get back Wednesday from the cruise, because I know I would have triple checked that before booking our flights (FI and booked them together one night) but oh well, it’s fixed and we will be able to get home!

I don’t know what’s going on, Bees, but I feel like if someone told me these things were happening in the days before our wedding I would have bet $100,000 I would have freaked out or at least teared up (cried), just with the stress of everything.  But I’ve shocked myself at how calm I am – I know I keep saying that but I feel like it’s really weird!  I guess you never know how you’ll react in these situations until you’re in it, but I just at this point honestly I just want to get married and go on our honeymoon and get this thing done already (if that makes sense??)

MsYankee:  I love your attitude!  I still have some time – 16 days but who’s counting – and I’ve decided that my mantra is going to be Let it Go.  I’m sure a lot will go wrong in these next 16 days but I will be channeling your vibes!!!
