It rained on my wedding day RIGHT as I had to leave my getting ready room to walk to the chapel. So my husband’s brothers had to help me out with my dress, etc.

It made for one of my fav photos of the entire day!:

Remember….every cloud has a silver lining!!!! xxx

We got a bit of rain….supposed to rain all day in the forecast. Mostly we got clouds like these that make for cool pics! The pics are stuck together. ..the first one is from a sunny break in the day!

This isn’t 100% what you are looking for, but I thought I’d chime in anyway. Rain was projected for my wedding day and we had umbrellas on standby. We watched the storm roll in starting the night of our rehearsal and get darker and more grey as time progressed, but the sky never actually opened up. However, to the point that PPs made, I just wanted to show you that the lighting is actually really pretty when it’s overcast.

The first two pictures show the storm rolling in and the cloud cover during our ceremony, and the last two are examples of the soft, romantic lighting it gave our photographer.

@bostongirl27:  On my wedding day it was supposed to be stormy with thunder lol!!! But the worst thing that happened was for a short time it was cloudy and before the ceremony it was raining for a few minutes, but seriously just a few drops…. One day later it was stormy with crazy thunders!

Soooo to all you brides, that are worried about the weather: Dont worry too much already, maybe you will be lucky too. Dont stress yourself. Just get a nice umbrella for any case. And I have seen beautiful pics in the rain. Just make sure you have a great photographer 🙂

Here a pic of my mom and brother (lmaoooo at his face) from when it was cloudy and another one of hubby and me, which was taken about 20 minutes later:

The second pic would only look half as cool as it does if there were no clouds…

It rained on my wedding day, and at the end of the ceremony the Priest made a joke about every drop that falls on the bride on her wedding day equals a child. The reaction was hilarious.

Had it not rained we wouldn’t have gotten this shot leaving the church, which is one of my favorites from the day:

@bostongirl27:  OP, one of my faovirte weddings was a cousin’s wedding where it downpoured! It started as sprinkles during the ceremony, but it held off until just after the recessional and then it just poured and everyone ran to the tent. We had the punch cocktail hour under the tent, instead of in the garden, as, intended, but it was fantastic. I, personally, love rain and storms and love to be outside (but dry) when it’s raining. It somehow makes everything seem more real and present. I think it’s because you smell so much better in the rain. So think good thoughts! Even if it rains it will be amazing. And a 10 day forcast is pretty sketchy to say the least!

@JenGirl:  are you talking about the dress? I found it on etsy and assumed it was a knock off but was never able to find the high end version.  Do you have a pic of yours? I’ve never seen it on anyone but myself!

@AlbertaLolita:  Yeah, now that I look closer I see that the pleating on your skirt goes all the way around and mine is only in the back. But it’s pretty darn similar! Here’s mine:

We got through the ceremony without any rain and it started right in the middle of supper! We got some gorgeous shots though! 🙂 It was still raining when we went to take this picture. There are a few more with umbrellas but I don’t have them with me.

@JenGirl:  it looks gorgeous on you!   Definitely very similar. Mine had a train but I asked for it to be removed and I added the pockets. Thanks for sharing!
