My day is approaching, and the extended forecast isn’t looking so great. My outdoor, poolside, candlelit destination wedding is looking like it might be happening in the (funeral parloresque, IMO) indoor chapel. π
I’ll roll w/ it and we’ll have a blast regardless, but..
Is this as big of a bummer as I think it is? Any of you have stories of awesomeness or horror in the event of rain?

I personally don’t have any stories of rainy weddings….yet. After my wedding this Friday I will surely have one for you! lol. Darn it. I planned my wedding for later in March because I figured it would finally be warming up by then. Didn’t really think of the chance of rain at all. I’m just hoping it doesn’t pour….good thing we planned an inside ceremony! Good luck to you! I am crossing my fingers that the weather might improve π

@SamanthaSadlier: I’ll be thinking positive weather thoughts for you. What’s your rain plan B for your reception (which I’m gleening was supposed to be outside).

Its funny you should bring this up right now…i was walking in the rain today and was thinking about weddings…and here was my thought…some of my all time favorite wedding pictures were taken in the rain
So, i almost think you are lucky (if it does rain…which i hope it doesnt!!) bc you will be able to take some very unique pictures!

Those are pretty pictures, but I definitely won’t be brave enough to go romp around in the water in my wedding dress with my hair all did for a photo!
I’m wishing that I gave more thought to bad weather. It just didn’t seem possible when I was planning, so almost all of or planned weekend activities are outdoors. Anyone know of any cool things to do w/ a large group (30-50) where we can still visit w/ each other (i.e. no shows) during the day in Vegas?

So, as a NorCal girl myself, I’m looking out the window and when I saw your post, I thought, gosh, it’s not going to stop raining here (it feels like this is going on forever and a half). But, then I saw destination – where is your wedding taking place? Cuz, for what it’s worth…the weather report for Vegas is clear clear clear!

As for things to do in Vegas – have most of them been to Vegas already? If not, it’s always fun to walk down the strip as tourists and see all of the hotels, and of course, for the ladies in your party, some shopping…

@Melini, luckily it is super easy just to move the event inside. Not a huge deal at all. We wanted to do half the reception indoors and half outdoors. The gardens to our venue are gorgeous and you can open the doors in the downstairs all super wide, so it feels like you aren’t cut off from the rest of the inside part of the venue. But now it will just have to be entirely inside π I am still crossing my fingers though!

@pengoala: accuweather had rain for next Fri. (4/1) and chance of for Sat. But now some of the other forcasts (intellicast and yours) are coming in with better news…fingers are crossed! Thanks for looking and sharing.
Most folks have been to Vegas and love it. I’m not too into the casinos and was hoping for “together” stuff to do besides everyone splitting off to stare at slot machine (which a large part of the group would love …much more than the hike I planned. LOL.) I wonder what the shop keepers would think if my entire wedding crew descended on their store? It just might happen! Who wants to buy the bride some new shoes?!
@SamanthaSadlier: Still thinking good weather thoughts for you as it chucks down rain in sunny Berkeley.
