Everyone’s menu sounds yum!!

We currently live in Colorado, but neither of us is originally from here. Almost all of our guests will be coming from out of state and so we decided to give them a taste of Colorado with foods as locally sourced as possible. Some of the items sound a bit out there (elk, bison, trout), but the flavors are actually pretty normal.


Artisian cheese tray with Olathe cheeses and Jumpin’ Good Goat Dairy cheeses, flat-bread crackers, fresh fruits and berries, chutneys, and jams

Buffalo cocktail meatballs with red chili glaze and caramelized wild mushrooms

Elk tenderloin bruschette with arugula, roasted red peppers, and horseradish aioli

Turtle bean hummus with sesame crudite platter



Grilled wild-caught ruby red trout with new potato bacon hash

Bison tenderloin with garlic herb whipped potatoes

Colorado chopped salad with toasted sunflower seeds and choice of homemade green goddess, roasted green chili ranch, or buttermilk ranch

Grilled seasonal vegetables with french lentils and sherry vinaigrette

Olathe sweet corn au gratin with shaved asiago

Fresh-baked breads and breadsticks with virgin olive oil



Wedding cake: Chocolate with chocolate Bavarian cream, coconut with vanilla buttercream, french vanilla with strawberry mousse

Groom’s donut cake: old fashioned maple, chocolate glazed, blueberry cake, cinnamon and sugar

I need to review our contract because honestly I don’t remember at all.


All I know is she tricked us by serving us “some leftover mousse from another event” that we ended up adding to our tab.


We’re seriously underserving for cocktail hour it seems.  I think we have three things and I don’t even know how many pieces per person, but if it’s 1 that’s going to be weird.

We’re thinking of buying those edible arrangement things and asking the caterer to add bread baskets and providing an assortment of butters.  I am worried about this appz thing tho!
