…and now I’m fully out of the process and won’t see the final product until my boyfriend proposes (EEK!). I’m dying from the anticipation. Part of me keeps over analyzing the decisions we made and wondering if I should have them tweak things – but at the same time, when I saw the mold on my hand and with the center diamond balanced in middle, I lit up. It was perfect so I’m trying to put it out of my mind and focus on other things until then.
I don’t have any photos of the ring, but I can say it will be an approximate .55 OEC Center diamond with .25 pear diamonds on the sides. It will be done with 14k gold and has 2 small Montana Sapphires under the basket (I think that’s the right term). It’s a simple band but has a little flourish to it. For my wedding band, we’re planning to use additional diamonds given to us by his mother.
While I wait for my stone, would love to see and hear your ring stories (especially if you went the custom route!)

Congrats on getting through the custom ring process Roaringinthefall! I’m sure it will be stunning. Here’s my ring story. My husband proposed with a ring that was almost what I wanted but not quite there and very heavy. Eventually I let him know that I would like to have the stones in the ring reset. Becuase he is awesome, he told me that he wanted me to have exactly what I wanted. So he and I worked with a local jeweler to design a ring that we both love. Here are a few pics.

I bet you must be dying to see it 🙂
my mom passed down her engagement ring and enhancer to me. We discussed having them turned into my e-ring but we eventually turned her solitaire into a pendant and her enhancer became an (over half) diamond band (we asked my parents if they were okay with it before transforming her ring into other pieces, and they were totally supportive)
The reason we decided not to use her diamonds for my ring is because I found out about moissanite. I loved the fact that it is silicone carbide. My fiancé is in law enforcement and wears a bullet proof vest everyday (he is at work right now, wearing it as I type this). Silicone carbide is used in bullet proof vests, so having that as my Ering was more meaningful than having a diamond. I honestly am grateful to have my mom’s diamonds and this beautiful ring.
Here is a pic after I cleaned them, pic taken outside on overcast day. The band with princess cuts is made up of my mom’s diamonds, the other two rings are different moissanites. I really love my stack but I have to wear it with spacers to ensure that they don’t damage each other.
And my mom’s solitaire (in yellow gold bezel setting) and actually the small stone in the bracelet is also another diamonds passed drown from my mother. I just love to reuse and repurpose 🙂

My Boyfriend or Best Friend mentioned to me a few weeks ago that he was thinking abou engagement rings but worried that he didn’t know my size…
whilst he knew I liked stepped cut stones and was set to get a three stone emerald ring I’m so glad he mentioned it to me.
we just visited an old friend of mine who manages a high end jeweller in London yesterday and designed and put a deposit down on a ring to be custom made!!!
Ill probably check over the final drawings but after hat I’ll leave it to my Boyfriend or Best Friend to do the rest ☺️
So excited to see the final product – .90ct asscher centre stone (so mesmerising!!) with tapered side baguettes on a fine plain band. Pretty sure I’ll go for platinum but my heart still wants yellow gold.. unfortunately i just don’t think it suits me or the ring as much..
Can’t wait for my man to propose – he is a hero for putting up with my chronic indecisiveness – no doubt he regrets ever mentioning it to me!!

Roaringinthefall : I don’t have any custom ring stories, but I do have an old mine cut ring! I can’t wait to see yours!

I went custom! It’s so good you don’t have the ability to make a bunch of changes. I did and it ended up in a second ring being made because I wasn’t sure about the first one. I wish I didn’t have so much say sometimes! Here is my old ring and my new cad!
