We’re having signature cocktails, and no, they won’t match our wedding colors.  Since we’re having an open bar, people can order whatever they want, but we’re still putting together a list of “signature drinks” that our guests can order if they choose:

(1) The Dirty:  A dirty vodka martini (w/ blue cheese olives if you want to order it the way we like it)

(2) The Cheeky: A Pimms cup (Pimms & ginger ale garnished w/ a cucumber slice and a strawberry slice)

(3) The Stormy: A dark & stormy (ginger beer and dark rum)

(4) The Fruity:  We’re still working on this one…  We figure we need to add a girly drink into the mix.  Any suggestions?

We had a signature cocktail, and called it the “Purple Mayan.” Purple because that was one of our wedding colors, and Mayan because we were honeymooning in the Riviera Maya.

We put up a cute litte sign at the bar with a description of the drink, as well as the origin of it’s name.

We are having sangria, which is our favorite drink, in both a red and a white. It doesn’t match our wedding colors and we are still working out recipes with the caterer but we are pretty excited. We are also limiting drinks to just our favorites: sangria, Guinness, champagne, and Sierra Nevada.

Darling Husband and I chose our favorite drinks, then came up with names for them after.  He loves SoCo n Coke, and I love myself a good Cojito.  We ended up naming them the Knottie Buoy and the Surly Mermaid (we’re sailors, it’s from the names of the boats in Finding Nemo).  Everyone loved the names, and really loved the drink specials!

Not really signature drinks, but we made a cocktail menu to display at the bar so our guests were aware that it’s a full open bar. Inspired by something I found on The Knot, the menu has a drink for:

Something Old – Gin & Tonic (FI drinks this, and so do the groomsmen)

Something New – Cosmopolitan (I drink this)

Something Borrowed – Mimosa (present at a lot of previous events we were at together)

Something Blue – Blue Hawaiian (mmm, tasty & also we are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon)

My fiancé is a huge fan of Pina Coladas so we decided to do a frozen daiquiri bar with 3 different flavors and the guests can go right up and help themselves. I know my wedding is in the fall but why not spice it up a little!!

If you want to color coordinate I have a great blue drink recipe if anyone wants…it is sooooo yummy and it looks beautiful.

I’m not sure what theme we’re going with name wise, but we want to have the following signature drinks:

Grey Goose martinis

Margaritas

Long Beach Iced Tea

some sort of lemonade/fruity drink

I want to do some kind of name theme… but am kind of stuck.

In my searches I came across the cutest name for a martini.  You girls may be way ahead and heard it a million times but it’s the:  Eternitini!  heheh, get it? get it?  Tongue out

Mmm well I think we’ll have french 75s (my personal fave) and I really want a fall themed drink that I have to think of. Maybe hot toddies (more winter-y, though) or apple-tinis… if anyone has a fave fall drink idea, let me know

@Nutella – besides cocktails, what about a pumpkin ale or seasonal beer? Those say fall to me. 🙂

We’re doing a bourbon lemonade, and no it doesn’t match our colors.  We’re also having an open bar, but our signature cocktail will be served butler-style throughout our cocktail hour!

You know, a fun and cheap way to spruce up your signature cocktail is with cool ice cubes. We are having raspberries frozen into the ice cubes that we use for our summer-y lemonade.  I guess you can put anything you want in your ice!  It would be fun to have a crazy drink (maybe blue in color or something) and freeze a piece of candy in it, like a swedish fish or a sour gummy worm piece!
