Old: necklace worn by my mother, grandmother, and great grandmother in all their weddings

New: shoes, dress, bracelet, earrings, hair accessory (take your pick)

Borrowed: Future Mother-In-Law is borrowing me a blue topaz RHR. All of her children helped pick it out as a gift for her so she thought it would be a way of them being with us when we have our private Destination Wedding.

Blue: blue beading on dress and cape, aquamarine hair accessory, blue shoes, garter has blue beading, blue topaz borrowed ring, blue topaz in my earrings and bracelet. Plus I will be wearing my lucky blue evil eye charm on an anklet and will have navy blue painted toes. It really isn’t as overwhelming as it sounds when it’s all together.

Old: My mom made my garter out of her wedding dress.

New: Dress, jewelry

Borrowed: I know you’re supposed to wear it, but I didn’t have anything… BUT, did borrow a basket for cards, and had my Grandma’s necklace that she wore all the time on my bouquet (she passed away a couple years ago). So, I don’t think it really can be considered borrowed, but it worked.

Blue: my shoes!

Something Old: My Grandad died last May and so my Granmy has given me a handkerchief belonging to him which is navy with white spots. I plan on wrapping it around my bouquet and putting small antique-style photo frames with photos of him in around it. It still smells like his pipe smoke.

Something New: Dress, shoes….

Something Borrowed: Mother-in-laws pearl earrings

Something Blue: Grandads handkerchief and my Rachel Simpson shoes….

I combined my old and borrowed. My sister inherited a ruby ring from our granny after she died (ruby is my sister’s birthstone) and she let me borrow it to wear for my wedding. My granny bought it as a present to herself on her ruby anniversary back in 1988, I don’t want to say it’s old though since I was born in 87 lol, maybe it was an antique back then!

My dress was new, and I painted my toenails blue! My mum wondered about the sixpence but I didn’t really want a coin in my shoe all day, don’t think it would have been comfy!

I actually put a lot of thought into this!

Old: My pearls from my great aunt on my dad’s side, she gave them to me when I was 12, before she passed away, for my wedding day. ๐Ÿ™‚

New: My dress! My mom bought it for me because my grandma did the same for her.

Borrowed: My mom’s veil! It’s the same veil, just with a new headpiece.

Blue: My shoes! My wedding colors are navy and grey with sunflowers, so blue was easy for me.

Penny for your shoe: We are actually ordering some pennies because we already have matching keychains that say “Lucky Us – J + S” and have a penny from 2009, which is the year we met. We’re going to get two more for 2016, which is the year we’re getting marred, and after our wedding day in my shoe we will add those pennies to our keychains. ๐Ÿ™‚
