I got the deal of the century at Michael’s last week – A whole pad of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper rang up for a penny!

I just found my heels at Burlington Coat Factory for $12.99!!! So pretty and comfy!! Since I saved so much, I grabbed a similar pair for backup in case of strap or heel breakage on the big day because that’s the kind of luck I have. haha

Got my shoes for a steal!! What do you think?? : wedding Shoes Wed

AND… I got these flip flops for our outdoor reception that have a nice, high platform without being heavy, so I don’t have to worry about the dress hem being too far off when I change shoes! These were only $9.99!!  SO excited!!!!!

I hurt my knee dress shopping on Friday (yeah, I’m hardcore. LOL) and have been off work all week, but I was still able to walk in the heels comfortably for a bit yesterday, so that bodes well. I really think they look beautiful, and both match my Diamond White Maggie Sottero Chadley with Swarovski crystals perfectly!!! Still need to take a pic of the backup pair, which are fabulous too!

I just picked up 12 sturdy, metal shepherd’s hooks at Dollarama last night for $1.25 each.  I’m pretty pumped about it.  Other purchases I’ve been stoked about:

Flower Girl dress: $12

Shoes to match: $10

I don’t know if it counts, but I’m doing my own invites. http://www.envelopes.com has pretty cheap options for the special sizes. I’m getting mine there, and I need a lot of envelopes [thank yous, save the date, a coin envelope for the save the date, invite, and rsvp]. It’s a good find for me.

I need A7 envelopes for our invites. Here [http://www.envelopes.com/invitation/square-flap/a7-envelopes-70lb-bright-white ] it would cost us $35.80

versus here [ http://www.lcipaper.com/a7-traditional-envelopes.html ] where it would cost $46.

Doesn’t seem like a huge savings, but that $10 would get me 50 RSVP envelopes.

Yay!  Frugal ideas!  I’m all about frugal.  We did our save the dates with one of those $10-for-$50-on-Mixbook type groupon deals.  Same thing for our guestbook.

We got our invitations at Michael’s, and printed them ourselves (or should I say myself :).  There were on sale, just $20 for 40 invites.  We only needed 40 invites, but wanted wiggle room.  Even $40 for 40 invites is quite a steal!  We paid more for postage!  And we’ve gotten so many compliments (we got the red poppies).

I also go my veil at Michael’s for less than $10 with the 20% off coupon.  I don’t want a fancy veil, and will only wear it for the ceremony, so it’s perfect.

We made our own favors (I was originally anti-favor as I thought they were a waste of money).  My Fiance and I collect Christmas ornaments each time we travel.  He’s from Maine, I’m from Michigan, which are both states which have lots of lighthouses.  So we made lighthouse Christmas ornaments as favors.  It was so easy.  Just make a salt dough (salt, flour, water), use a cookie cutter, allow to dry, and paint.  I printed little cards that we’ll put on the ribbon to explain the significance.  I couldn’t find favor bags that fit.  Since we’re doing a rustic-ish affair, I’ll put an ornament in a small brown paper lunch bag, put in some decorative filler (also from Michael’s), fold the bag over, and clip with a clothespin.  I will print out pretty cards that have each person/family’s name on it, and affix that card with the clothespin.  We’re using table names rather than table numbers, and the table name is written on each clothespin (my Bridesmaid or Best Man mom has neat handwriting!).  This way, if we have to do any last minute rearranging, we don’t need to make new cards, we just switch out some clothespins.

I found my shoes (red peep toe) for $20 at Payless.

For decor, we found paper lanterns at asianimportstore.com.  We will light the lanterns using LEDS that we tape to button batteries (cheap on amazon).  We did a trial and they last for weeks.  So much cheaper than the assembled lights, and they can be hung the day before with no worries of burnout during (or before) the wedding.

For tabletop decor, we found morrocan lanterns on Amazon.  http://www.amazon.com/Moroccan-Hanging-Lanterns-Wedding-Holders/dp/B004M51UOY/ref=sr_1_44?ie=UTF8&qid=1334252416&sr=8-44  and http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Wedding-Moroccan-Lantern-Centerpieces/dp/B002LI8O9I/ref=sr_1_75?ie=UTF8&qid=1334252437&sr=8-75 (though for the lot of 10, we got different sized lanterns depending who we ordered from, so confirm with the seller first; luckily we could use both the smaller and larger sizes).  If I could find such a shepard’s hook deal as mentioned earlier, I would also use the lanterns for our aisle decor.

But then I went to the Bobbi Brown counter and spent more than I have in the past 10 year combined (I usually buy what’s on sale at the drugstore, in bulk).  Oh well.  We did NOT go with the most frugal options for photographer and videographer, so I hope it was worth it!
