Hi Bees! I was hoping some of you who have been successful in getting healthy and losing weight could share some success stories!
I got engaged in June 2010. I started working out 2-3 times a week at that time. Twice a week I go to a “boot camp” with a trainer. Once a week i do Zumba. My eating habits are horrible, though. It’s now almost Thanksgiving and I haven’t lost any weight. I did lose an inch in my hips, an inch in my thighs, and an inch in my waist, but the scale isn’t moving. I am now just over 9 months away from the wedding and am feeling pretty low. Sometimes it seems like losing weight is impossible. I am 184 pounds now and wanted to get to 150, but would be happy at 155. 30 pounds doesn’t seem like it should be so hard, but I am struggling.
Any success stories? Tips? Inspiration? Thanks Bees!

Hi – I’ve been working on changing my eating habits, and so far what I’m doing is working… it sounds like you’ve got the exercise thing going, so changing nutrition would be the place I’d look. Another way to look @ it is that you’re halfway there, since most medical folks will say it’s a combo of exercise and nutrition that works. As far as nutrition, what’s helping me is to focus on new foods and not what I can’t eat. Also getting off sugar makes a huge difference. If you can, seeing a nutritionist would probably help too. i dont really know if im a success story yet, but here goes…. i hit 251lbs shortly before i got engaged (april 2010) and my ‘breaking point’ was seeing pics of myself from my friends bday party. right then and there i decided i have had enough. i was in size 20/22 jeans and i felt horrible. since then i have had my medicine adjusted (i have a hypoactive thyroid) and have started working out (i do zumba 5-6 days a week) and im eating right (im doing weight watchers). so far i have lost 31 lbs and i am down to a size 16. i feel alot better about myself and i know that i have a ways to go but i feel like i can do it! ideally id love to weigh about 155 🙂
